A woman named Karen Vaughn, whose son was KIA in Afghanistan in 2011, wrote this.

She makes the same amount of nonsense Trumpkins here make when struggling trying to defend their devotion to him:

Sometimes God uses the no-nonsense, salty sailor to get the job done. Appreciating what the man is doing doesnt mean we worship the salty sailor or even desire to be like the salty sailor. It doesnt even mean God admires the salty sailor. Maybe He just knows hes necessary for such a time as this.

I believe with all my heart that God placed that salty sailor in the White House and gave this nation one more chance in November 2016. Donald Trump is what he is. He is still the man he was before the election. And without guilt, I very much admire what that salty sailor is accomplishing.

Hes not like me. Thats okay with me. I dont want to be like him. I will never behave like him. I know weve NEVER had a man like him lead our nation. Its crazy and a little mind blowing at times. But I cant help admire the ability he has to act with his heart rather than a calculated, PC, think tank-screened, carefully edited script. I still believe that is WHY he became our President and WHY hes been able to handle a landslide of adversity and STILL pass unprecedented amounts of good legislation for our country AND do great works for MANY other nations, including Israel.

Im THRILLED with what hes doing for my nation, for the cause of Christ (whether intentional or unintentional, doesnt matter to me), and for the concept of rebuilding America and putting her FIRST. I will not be ashamed of my position because others dont see him through the same lens.

Should it matter to me if a fireman drops an f-bomb while hes pulling me from a burning building? Would I really care about what came out of his mouth in those moments? Heck no! Id CARE about what he was DOING. He wasnt sent there to save my soul and Im not looking to him for spiritual guidance. All Im thinking in those moments is, Thank you, Jesus, for sending the fireman.

This man is crass. Okay. Hes not careful with what he says Okay. You feel offended that hes not a typical statesman. Okay. But he is rebuilding the nation my son died forthe nation I feared was on a fast track to becoming a hopeless cause. Forgive me if Im smiling.

Moses, King David, The Apostle Paul, Tamar, Simon Peter, Jonah and dozens of other people say hi.

(Just so nobody derails the thread--I think Jonah is a made up person too.)

Probably your best post Cinque. I think she sums it up pretty well.

Actually, she makes total sense which is why cinque and the usual suspects that agree with cinque will probably never understand why that's the case.

That's the craziest bunch of hooey I've ever read. He a vile, despicable jerk, but he's my vile despicable jerk, so I endorse him. How cynical and morally bankrupt had this country become?

Being a confirmed leftist you are far and away in the best position to answer that question. Just take a quick look at the notable people you agree with.

And then to have the unmitigated gall, the temerity to insinuate Jesus into her idol worship. It's disgusting.

Another profane president won office surprisingly. I wonder how Truman would have fared in a social media world:

What was Harry Truman like as a person?

His personality was unique. He was very confident in his own judgement and usually moved on after making a decision, never one to dwell. He was also known for his terrible temper, explosiveness, sensitivity, and harsh or quick responses. Truman also had a sense of humor and lightheartedness where he was able to take jabs at himself, an his inexperience before taking the Presidents chair. One famous quote after FDR passed was " Boys, if you ever pray, pray for me now. I don't know ifyou fellows ever had a load of hay fall on you, but whenthey told me yesterday what had happened, I felt like themoon, the stars, and all the planets had fallen on me."
A lot of Americans liked him during his first term, not so much his second term. His personality was easy for Americans to relate to and I think they saw his temperament as something that was an honest, a president who could blow off some steam in front of the entire nation. However, in private conversations, he was known to use racial slurs and had profanity. Perhaps this was a result of his Southern upbringing in Missouri.

Truman was our last president who did not have a college degree, but he was very well read and very intelligent. He was not popular with congress, but had the attitude that he didn't care who got the credit, as long as something gets done. To illustrate this, the Marshall Plan was due more to his insistence than to others, but he knew that if his name was attached, it wouldn't go through. Marshall ended up getting the Nobel Peace Prize for it.
Truman was known for being rough (probably swearing more than any president except LBJ). He was known for getting very angry about a bad review of his daughter's performance in a concert. He loved poker. He was also a simple man. He lived in an apartment on Connecticut Avenue while in the Senate. I saw a recent article that pointed out that a Trump uses a fourth grade vocabulary. Truman was the only other president since WWII with a grade school vocabulary.
I always wondered why, after seeing the devastation of Hiroshima, he would allow Nagasaki to happen. Reading his biography, I discovered that he was in the middle of the Atlantic, returning from Yalta, when the bombs were dropped.

Truman for the most part, was privately profane...as profane people should be. Trump's profanity is one of his more mundane human failings.

I would simply say that Karen Vaughan has earned the right to her opinion. My utmost condolences for the los of her Son, and appreciation for his Sacrifice for all of us.

We seem to live in a time where opposing sides assure their supporters that if the other side wins the political battle our Nation, World, Culture, Democracy (pick 2 or 3) will not long endure. While we know that decisions made by a President may have longer lasting effect than his or her Presidency, I am convinced that the American people will finally get it. And no matter how long that takes, so long as there are some key shreds of the Constitution left in place, our Democracy will survive, our society and our place in the World will be restored.
