Is Dary Stone also the one that pressured to have his no-talent kid awarded a football scholarship?

The same.
The kid wasn't on scholarship. He kicked once in a game.

Tbe point was the pressure, not the award.

The point is to be accurate.

His post was accurate: Stone pressured BU to award his kid a scholarship. He didn't claim the scholarship was granted. If you want to raise the accuracy of posts on this board more power to you. Plenty to keep you busy.

Cite where this is a fact. You don't pressure Art to do anything.

Arlington: Is Dary Stone also the one that pressured to have his no-talent kid awarded a football scholarship?
Yoak:The same.

Right thar.

A good source of mine in the athletic department told me that Dary Stone called Ramsower all the time with instructions for Ian. Ramsower would pass them on to Ian telling him what to do. It's like we all suspected to be true. Hopefully some of this will finally come out if Ramsower is ever deposed.

Source also told me that Stone wanted to be the AD in the worst way. Thank God he wasn't.

I thought you were going to reveal something new.

A number of us were privy to this information years ago. Others that supposedly received such daily instructions included Garland, Starr, Davis et al.

This sort of activity threatened accreditation since it is not proper for BOR members to give direct orders to administrative personnel. The board's duty is only to set policy, not to carry it out.
I don't think many know just how pervasive it was/is.

Since he had that much power, why didn't he call Briles at halftime of the Cotton Bowl and tell him to not take his foot off the gas so that we didn't have to live through one of the most embarassing comebacks in bowl history.

Well we probably won't have to worry about losing a cotton bowl again
Was gonna laugh, but then reality is this is true.

Sad for Baylor, they get it together or get dumped at the next realignment.

There's sure a lot of football people missing the Dary/Ian saga over here in the religious pool. How about putting this back over in the football board unless your superiors instructed you otherwise?

Does Buddy post over here, as he was suspected of doing on BF?

He had a dozen names on baylorfans. Over here, I think he has hijacked the name JettRink. It drove him crazy over at baylorfans that he could never figure out who Jett Rink was, mainly because ol Jett had his number and regularly wore his ass out.

Sometimes Milli Vanilla sounds like Buddy.

Yes, that would make sense, as the occasional posts by Jett Rink over here are very unlike those on BaylorFans.

I'm pretty sure that VardamanFan was one of his, too, and for a reason similar to what you cite. He knew that the real Vardaman (a) was beloved, which was never said about Buddy and (b) hated what Buddy and Sloan did to Baylor.

The real Vardaman was a Baylor patriot to the end. Same can't be said about Buddy

Vardaman loved Baylor and his students. Buddy loved Buddy (and power).

Guess these folks over here at the poor side of this site haven't figured out that spirited football posts are what draws traffic to their otherwise hum drum pages. I guess they figure the paying Pollyanna readers would rather stand in awe of signings in West Texas than read what's really going on.

People want to read the inside stuff and the dirt not hearts and flowers.

That's why the "Ian's version of the truth " story has topped 18 pages and still going.

They want to dig up these buried losers from their shallow career graves.
Most had no issue with the regents while they were tearing down alumni buildings and acting like religious zealot mobster types until the robe and his second rate handlers could not control a few special kids he brought to campus

I've done a couple of RE deals with him and he seems to be an ok guy. We live in the same town and I see him around some. Doesn't seem to be the ***** everyone say, but who knows. Now, that lobbyist fella in Austin....different story

I'd like to see proponents and opponents start being artsy about their opinions of regents.

Like...

"There once was a regent named Stone..."

It would give it a more football board feel!
Maybe even employ haiku! Something of a highbrow brow beating. Whatever you think each regent warrants.

First of all this thread is a dumpster fire and many of you need a good kick in the ball sack. Second of all, lets set the record straight:
1) Dary Stone is more of an athlete than all the other kickers we had in 2009 (Kolton, freshman Stork, Parks, etc)
2) Dary saw action at kicker bc he was a good kicker and he was better than Parks was at the time
3) He played in 5 games as kicker
4) All you mother ****ers bad mouthing Dary Stone Sr can go fly a kite. He's a good man and he's done more for baylor than any of you ever will combined

Also, I don't believe a damn word the OP said/says

Help me with what Dary did for Baylor athletics. Was Dary Sr pro or anti Art Briles? Pro or anti Ian? Good friend of McLane? Good friend of Starr? Thank you.

Was that a threat, Dary?

You'd better bring a sack lunch and a flashlight.

Obviously I wouldn't be here if I didn't. But you're half correct. I only follow athletics. IOW the campus is still full of pious folks who haven't changed that much when I graduated almost 60 years ago.

If that is an honest response, then it seems like you should care very much about this.... it's the pious folks who put brand over our girls, and then when it was coming out threw our top 5 football program to the wolves to protect themselves

Looks like the Ex Evil Empire is out in full force today. After all the damage they have done to Baylor, I am surprised that they aren't in hiding. But of course their HUGE egos would never allow that.
