Laf. The reason you are boring is that your go-to move is repetition. You try to imitate someone else then you do it over and over. Be yourself. And be honest, that is always interesting.

Texas has not legalized marijuana, but may get in the game accidentally.

The lege legalized hemp and set a minimum THC level. All well and good.

Unfortunately for DAs all across the state, the minimum is so low that, currently, only one lab in the state can make the proper assessment. Several counties have already announced that they will not prosecute small amounts of possession.

At least one daring entrepreneur is selling "hemp flowers".

I don't think they legalized it the way you're describing it....they legalized hemp with the minimum THC level only to be grown as a real, legitimate crop farming business. It's still illegal to partake.

The Democratic Party's complete reversal of their position on such a major/critical issue ....is completely unprecedented in US political history.

And remains fundamentally unchallenged only due to ...

A. The decline in overall intelligence and awareness of our electorate.
B. The reliance our society puts on social media for information.

That is exactly the point, they don't mean to but they have because the minimum THC can only be determined by, at the moment, one lab in Travis County. Some DAs are declining prosecution, one is using civil asset forfeiture funds to build one of his own.

Quash,

I didn't read a single reply to your original post but I disagree. I've argued my point with our grandchildren for years. Did you happen to see the segment Friday on CNBC regarding illegal pot shops in L.A.?

Calif thought they'd collect billions in tax revenue. Instead they fell way short of that goal. Illegal shops operate openly and some of their product reportedly contained dangerous pesticides.

Now on to the next topic. LIBRA. . When you can buy illegal pot with your Facebook LIBRA money we will know the government no longer has a dog collar on our citizens. It will be so interesting. I wished I could be around to see the decade of the 2020's and beyond.

Legally sold drugs are reducing the flow of illegally sold drugs. Supported by data. Tax expectations are not germane to the argument. Got anything else?

Jim, your inane posts are evidence of heavy drug use. Crazy rambling, all hours of the night, constant claims of quitting for good, only to start posting again 24 hours later, thinking you had a shot at being a Judge, etc.. Why are you against legalizing drugs for others?

Maybe for recreational sale in legal states or the very few medical dispensaries in Texas. This was to get Texas farmers in on the market. BTW....mixed results from a recent Colorado study regarding DUI alcohol vs. marijuana and there's still a black market because of the lower THC threshold. I still think it should be legal tho.

I'm a libertarian in the sense that I think Jim should be able to continue to engage in heavy drug use if it's his prerogative. However, since he uses tax payer funded unemployment benefits to purchase said drugs, I believe the government has the right to restrict his "right" to do drugs. Also, when he becomes a danger to himself and others, I think government intervention is good.
