I am really missing The Great Game. I have not even begun to comprehend a season without Baylor football and the NFL. I guess the good news being a Chiefs fan I will have more time to celebrate!

I actually had a stretch of about 10 years where I watched almost no football including missing Super Bowls. I found it took too much of my time especially with my lifestyle.
The only time I've really missed football was when I was in Canada for a while and I didn't have access to it. (I could watch that three down, everyone moving game. It wasn't the same).
That was bad.

Let me guess. Was that during Roberts, Steele, and Morriss era (19972007)

Some humble suggestions for the OP:
1. Learn a foreign language
2. Learn a musical instrument
3. Learn more about Church history or the bible or another faith in an effort to evangelize
4. Go make a baby with your wife
5. Learn how to cook or try some new things.
6. Write a book
7. Read books you said you never had time for
8. Learn something artistic like painting, working with clay or drawing
9. Start a garden now and enjoy the bounty in the Fall
10. Do more charity work
11. Learn a new subject.
12. Rebuild an old car or build something.
13. Fire your handyman and/or maid and do it yourself.
14. If you have video and technical skills, offer them to the church or other churches.
I think I'd want football cancelled too if I was an a&m fan.Canada2017 said:
Blessing in disguise .
Let real students get some exercise, fire ridiculously expensive coaches, and turn over these palatial athletic facilities for the use of the entire student body .

I for sure missed ALL the Roberts years. The end of the Teaff years and the beginning of the Steele years.
I went to the Tech game during the Steele years. Bought tickets. Got in a little late and we were down by 21 points. It was like 3 minutes into the game.
I didn't kiss the Morris years. I wish like hell I had. Two things I remember for their own reason.
The North Texas game in Denton. Team was unprepared and out of shape. Morriss wanted to try pickle juice. Kansas game. Mangino stood on the 50 and the 49 at the same time.
And if that was the game I am thinking about.....our homecoming queen wore black and red. That era was a complete and utter embarrassment.robby44 said:

I am not sure the Baylor athletic department can survive. A loss to West Virginia may be the last Baylor sporting event.

Baylor's endowment is approximately 1.3 billion dollars .

Baylor's endowment is approximately 1.3 billion dollars .

How much of that endowment was spent on athletics? How much will it cost to fund the deficit next year for athletics with zero revenue?

How much of the endowment was spent on athletics last year? How much would it cost to fund the programs for a year?Canada2017 said:Kyle said:Chuckle. Not today.Canada2017 said:Kyle said:

I know this is a long shot, hardly conceivable even....but with 1.3 billion tucked away I suspect Baylor will keep the alumni entertained.

The bigger question is whether the endowment of 1.3 billion is still 1.3 billion. The 1.3 billion figure is pre apparent recession (or worse).
