Do you think CNN would've altered the photo as it did if the Washington franchise hadn't itself taken the steps it has regarding its former name? I don't think CNN is pretending the history didn't happen, and I don't think it's trying to do some solid for Biden by "rewriting" that history. Just more like avoiding repeating the sorry spectacle of using a slur like "Redskin" as your "mascot."
