That's right. They come from people using a small bit of truth and a whole lot of bull**** in order to push the Marxist "divide them by race" ideals. Amazingly works on both extremes of each side of the aisle.

Sure it is, when you compare the factors of each individual case rather than just going off of skin tone. I'm telling you, pushing racial division in this country has worked wonders for the anti-America marxists.

Thugs going to thug. Pointing it out isn't Marxist.

Yes but Canon is talking about black people. Thugs come in all skin tones.

Kinda sad how spineless Americans have become. Whether tolerating criminals where they shop or following instructions from their government in the name of health and safety. Shameful and sad.

Would you go after a nut case with a pick axe over $20 in store items?

These stores need security but I think they are afraid of the liability and bad PR of stopping any criminal.
Never, ever bring a pick axe to a gunfight. You will lose.

Citizens have to stop accepting this behavior. It appears the politicians do not care.

There's a culture from which the stereotypes emerge. That culture chooses to define itself by skin tone. Nothing divisive about statistical realities.

I contend it has more to do with economic class and the same pattern of behavior can be found across the spectrum of races at certain classes. When you factor in the typical location choice of each race of those economic classes, and density of policing comparisons, it's mathematically inevitable you would see one in the courts more often than others.

No other race/culture is comparable in crime (particularly violent crime). None. There are plenty of immigrant enclaves full of poor people and they don't compare proportionally. There's also no other cultural group that glorifies crime and culturally destructive behavior like the black American culture does. It's a uniquely violent, dangerous and self destructive culture.

Again, put any other culture or race of Americans in the same places of high density city living and you'll see the same results. More police means more interactions with police. I do agree a violent, victimhood culture is pushed on them by the mainstream media. It's easy to divide people when you paint one as victim and one as oppressor.

lets also consider maybe figuring out how to solve our supply chain dis-coordination problems so we don't have containers full of millions of dollars of merch sitting around random places from months on end

So we should put you in the "what was she wearing" camp if a woman is raped…got it. Never mind the fact those hood rats broke into and stole merchandise that wasn't theirs…it shouldn't have been sitting there in the first place!

False. Cities have tried reducing police presence in areas because of this claim and crime only increased.

of course it did. Less police equals more crime and the higher density the population the higher the crime rates go.
My explanation is also the truth of the matter when it comes to dispelling the lie that police target black people more than other races. Dense population plus a poor class of citizen that prefers to live in urban areas equals more police interactions. It's math, not racist cops, not a violent race, it's math.

The American Dream is on Life Support in the Bay Area

This is not a "**** SF" post. This is a lament of what has been lost, and a wistfulness for what could have been.

A year ago I was smirking at the people moving out of the Bay Area. I thought these were fairweather citizens, silly for moving to political train-wrecks like Texas or Florida.

Twelve months on, my wife and I find ourselves packing our life into boxes. Not to run towards a place where we feel greater love, but just to leave. The pendulum has swung hard in the last twelve months.
I didn't think this change in my mindset would happen, or so quickly. I wanted to share the journey, in part because I've been in both camps at various points, and I hope those on most parts of the spectrum will consider this a reasonable, balanced perspective.

In summary there have been many wonderful things about the Bay Area environment and local tech ecosystem. Some of those things persist. But enough challenges in quality of life have emerged and accelerated in recent years that the benefits are very clearly far outweighed by mounting frustrations.

In the last seven years, my wife and I have experienced four home break-ins, one car break-in, multiple other thefts, broken up a purse snatching, been chased and lunged at by mentally ill people a few times a year...

...I only reported one break-in incident, because… what's the point?
The point is that crime is at least 7 times worse than what your reporting has produced. 7 times. It's much easier for politicians to ignore data (or use data for their agendas) when that data doesn't portray the true scope of the problem. The best thing a victim can do is to ALWAYS report crimes that are committed, whether they are victims or witnesses. You are surely enabling criminality Mr. Raghavan.

Manhattan DA to stop seeking prison sentences in slew of criminal cases

Who needs soft-on-crime judges when the district attorney doesn't even want to lock up the bad guys?

Manhattan's new DA has ordered his prosecutors to stop seeking prison sentences for hordes of criminals and to downgrade felony charges in cases including armed robberies and drug dealing, according to a set of progressive policies made public Tuesday.

Anyone have ideas on why SF is lagging?

San Francisco trails other major metro areas in economic recovery

San Francisco lags behind other major metropolitan areas in economic recovery from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, according to the latest report from the Office of the City Controller.
Quote:

Office workers are returning to their desks in other cities, but it remains unclear how many are actually living, working and spending money in San Francisco.

While Austin, Texas, boasts office attendance as high as 60%, the broader San Francisco metro area remains stuck at roughly 30%, according to the report.

Tourists also appear hesitant to book travel to San Francisco.

Nearly all airports ground to a halt when the coronavirus arrived in 2020. Since then, air travel has slowly ticked up nationwide, but some cities have seen a faster increase than others.

As of October, airports in Phoenix and Denver had nearly returned to pre-pandemic passenger numbers for domestic travel, The City Controller's office states in its report. Seattle and Los Angeles had reached about 80%. By contrast, San Francisco just crested 60% of pre-pandemic passengers for routes within the United States.
