I very much like this idea. I think 65 would be more appropriate, but 70 would be a great step in the right direction. We put age minimums to run for office, and the current President is proof mental decline is an issue that needs to be addressed.

It would also serve as a defacto term limiter, which we sorely need, despite the morons who say elections are term limits.

Frankly, I feel that Term Limits are our best option. Two terms in the Senate and 4 terms in the House. Or nor more than 20 years of service between the two. If you can't get it done in 20 years in Washington, you need to go.

We should raise the minimum age to get elected to Congress to 35 and put in a mandatory retirement age of 70.

Agree but at some point the older generation has to give up power to the younger generation. And the boomers don't seem like they want to go quietly.

Age 70 is old enough to pack in the bags and head off to retirement.
