Hey guys I have been compiling a list of some things that would be neat to see added on the message board.

I want to use this thread on things you guys would like to see. I will work with the F5 team on your suggestions.

These guy at Sicem365 and F5 are great and will work with you folks to assist in what they can.

1.) Notifications - At bf.com had no way to tell if your comments or posts were responded to. I'm seeing the same thing here at 365. You have to go to the thread and dig through to see if someone has responded or quoted you.

If you could build a notification system, that would be super helpful!

2.) We want Rep! It lets the user know how he or she is received, if they are trustworthy and it just makes you feel good!

I am not an admin but I can answer number 1.

If someone responds to a thread you have posted in the binocular icon in the top right will turn blue. You can hover over it to see a list of threads you are "watching". In that list, if there is a gray square it just means that someone has posted in the thread. If there is a blue square it means someone has directly replied to or quoted one your posts.

I don't currently get the WatchList or the UnreadPosts tabs. I suspect these are currently Premium only features. Hopefully, they will be made available to all.

Rep or seeing who reps you would be awesome.

Not having ignore or private messages to Premium only. Some of us stay in touch through private messages and having it Premium only hampers some of that communication for those that don't want to pay. Both ignore and PMs were free at BaylorFans.

Love the 'binoculars" up top to tell you about new posts on ones you are posting.

A suggestion - adding a Most Recent Posts similar to your BFans one, add it next to the binoculars. Just like yours, it takes folks to boards they dont normally go to. Otherwise I would be on Football 24/7

Oh. And a Conference Realignment sub-forum. Might as well be prepared for the next one.

Ashley mentioned over on BF that that is one of the things they are talking about introducing here.

With so many users coming online now, I would suggest to any mod/owner reading this that posts don't turn blue until that post gets like 5 or 10 upvotes/stars vs the current amount, which is 3. Some threads are nothing but blue lately..

Or let each user configure his own blue post threshold

Apparently free users can't ignore or send pm's. That should change.

Also, I can't send a pm to a free user.

I haven't tried to ignore a free user.... but I hope I have the ability to do so!!!!!!!!!

Brian said that was coming in the next week.

Sure wish the Baylor Fans members who came over could have their Baylor Fans start date. Doesn't seem right to post thousands of posts for many years, then see your 'start date' here as "July 2017".
That which does not kill me, will try again and get nastier

This sicem365.com page can't be found
No webpage was found for the web address: https://sicem365.com/forums/forum.php
HTTP ERROR 404

Avatars needed, I note they are under consideration above. Make it so , please.

+1 for start dates to original for BF posters.

Let us post pictures stored on our devices/computers, not just from urls.

The stated reason for not uploading pictures is the speed of the page load. Will take some getting used to but its doable.

I get the desire for page load speed. But if its on the site database it should load as fast or faster than from a URL. Unless they are not using Akamai or the like to cache and serve pages. Pictures/gifs etc not hosted on the site will also tend to go away over time, leaving holes in threads.

So I have to make a special Dropbox containing pictures/gifs I want to post (I'm not publishing links to my real Dropbox or One Drive on a forum website). Load the picture to that, create the link, then insert it on this site. Or, google to find a picture I want that's sort of like the one I want, copy the link and paste it. Less than optimal.

Especially if they are going to allow Avatars they need to host pictures.

Not hosting pictures/gifs saves money (storage, bandwidth, etc) and I get they are in business to make money.

Dropbox has a stricter limit on bandwidth than other hosting sites. I've had pics/gifs hosted on dropbox become inaccessible because they reached their max bandwidth.

imgur is by far the easiest solution. You don't even have to have an account to upload. Though I don't know why you wouldn't want an account. You stay logged in forever and are able to access all pics you've uploaded.
CorsicanaBear

With imagur the concept is the same as Dropbox . You have to move the pic/gif to the service, create the link then post. Too much friction in the process.

Gotta say, after posting for a few days, I'm liking a lot about 365. Lots of potential. And since the powers that be are looking hard at each suggestion to see if its doable, it will only get better

Would it be possible to get the red x "ignore thread" feature on this site that Jason recently added to BFans?

I know this site's Ignore User function may keep me from seeing a thread started by that person, but it would still be helpful.

The watchlist only shows threads I already know I want to watch. But to determine new threads that I want to watch, I have to wade through all threads to see which I want to read that are new. It would help if I could ignore threads I know I never want to read.

I think people will find this valuable as all thye new members start making threads just because a thought popped into their head, like at BFans.

Barring the creation of a rep point system which would be a popular addition, free members should be given access to the post of the day info. I'm a premium member, so don't know if maybe they do already... but I can't see post of the day on a desktop on the free boards.

I agree. But at this point, all the posts on the post of the day board are behind the paywall. Perhaps a Free Board Post of the day?

On BaylorFans, we had the ability to delete a duplicate post. Can we please have that option added in?

Also, is there a multi-quote button so you can highlight 2 comments that your post is referencing?
