I also have this same question.

This would be a great improvement if it could be made. Seemingly most folks just edit a post and remove all of its content as a proxy for deletion, but that deleted post's "placeholder" remains with no content in the thread.

It would be nice to be able to completely delete a post...

the masses are starting to want too much power around here.

that's a joke in case anyone takes me serious. I'm adding to the suggestion thread.

I use to only allow sponsors to delete their threads because one it was hard on the sever and two I would get complaints from people that were part of the threads being deleted by the thread starter. It was annoying when you had a post with say 50 posts and the thread starter would come along and delet it.

I am simply asking for the ability to delete a post within a thread - like this one. The rest of the thread could stay, but it would be nice for me to be able to delete this post on my own whenever I would choose...

Thanks to all of y'all for fielding this stuff!!!

How does one even edit their own post?

Maybe free accounts can't - I don't know.

There is a pencil icon in the lower right corner of my posts...I can click on that, delete everything I posted, and resave. The content of my post is then gone, but my screen name and time stamp for the post remains...

Got it. Why is everything in this opaque gray color that is damn near invisible? What happened to good old high contrast black and white??

The black and white contrast is OK for me - I'm not having issues with opaque gray...
