Recruiting Notes: A Baylor offer close for a '21 offensive line prospect?
Baylor continues to look for top options on the offensive line plus a top target in the 2022 class catches us up on his recruitment.
Note on Potential OL Target
Fort Bend Christian Academy 2021 offensive lineman Remington Strickland has finally heard from the Baylor staff for the first time in a couple months. He will be on a call with Baylor offensive line coach Joe Wickline later on tonight.Last week Strickland told me, "Growing up I was a Texas A&M fan and a Baylor fan because my parents graduated from there so I always watched them growing up."The 6'4, 290-pound prospect has become a very intriguing name over the past month as his film is much improved from his junior year and he has earned offers from Michigan and Oklahoma. I have mentioned that I thought Baylor may show some interest in the three-star prospect and they are now doing that. This comes on the heels of Mansfield (TX) Summit High School 2021 OL Jacoby Jackson committing to Texas Tech tonight.I will try to get some updates from him tonight or early tomorrow but keep an eye on him as a potential offer even with Snow College (UT) offensive lineman Jordan Moko being a priority.
Jacoby Jackson committing at 5 p.m. CT
It's not going to be Baylor for 2021 OL Jacoby Jackson. I'm fully expecting it to be Texas Tech and it might be a blessing in disguise as Baylor wades the water with their final spots. The priority target on the board to close 20201 is Jordan Moko and Baylor feels good about their position even though the decision is still a little ways out. They aren't pushing for a commitment from anyone else. That's not to say they wouldn't have taken a commitment from Jackson, but they definitely weren't pushing for it. This is a very similar situation to the one with Dametrious Crownover, though Baylor had stopped recruiting Crownover 2-3 weeks before his commitment to Texas A&M.
