WBB Recruiting News 7/10:
There are 4-5 WBB AAU tournaments going on right now in Mansfield, Dallas, and Frisco. I'm not done interviewing the young ladies this weekend, but they've been playing since 2-3 games a day since 7/6 and I went to Frisco to interview Sammie Wagner (WBB) and Maddie Cox (WBB) today. Both have a great future ahead of them if either pick Baylor or not. Both are still building the relationships with Collen, Cummings, and Greene that they had with the old staff. Both fit the new staff offensively as each are looking for movement and pick and roll versus a high/low post game, which you'll hear in their interviews. Cox is open and not sure. Wagner is close to narrowing her list. She's got a top 8 or so and I'd say Baylor has ground to make up to be in the top list. She knows Baylor, the old Baylor, and now is learning what the new Baylor will be. She's a 16 year-old kid that saw her future change and change is hard and it is her life, so I don't want to hear anything negative about her if she does go out of state over what she knew was here, but all changed. Both were complimentary of Collen and both are looking to build better relationships. It's been 3 months or so since Collen was announced and both have been recruited by schools for three years. Both sets of parents love Baylor, but want their daughters to do what their daughters want to do. The Cox family is great. I expect Smoaky to have Lauren in the studio in a couple of weeks as she is expected to be in Waco.I expect to have Sammie and her parents in the studio with David when they come back for another visit, because they are going to do so.Tomorrow I will be talking to Tevin Williams' sister Janiyah in Frisco after her game. I should get a couple more outside the fieldhouse then.I appreciate the Wagner, Cox, and Williams families for letting me interview their daughters as this isn't usually how WBB recruiting is handled. Boys have it different with social media jammed in their faces by Rivals, 247, ESPN, Nike, and UA, but SicEm365 is going to try to give the young ladies the chance to build their brand through us as football and basketball have for the boys. It hasn't been easy to gain trust in the circle, but it is starting to happen. Be patient and we'll continue to work at it as it isn't easy.Additional info:Both families were excited to see the 2021 signee play as they'd seen her before and were happy she is on campus. Also, it was a major win for Collen, Greene, and Cummings to add that depth to the roster for 2021.The 2022 class is definitely listening and from AAU coaches I ran into after I interviewed Cox, there are a couple of high 4 and 5 star players expected to visit from out of state for 2022. Three AAU coaches in the lobby liked the three coaches currently on staff a ton and had some things to say about some of the old staff which weren't flattering. I don't like to run people down, so I just said, "well, they're gone and Baylor fans are ready for a fresh start, so I hope the new staff wins like that." Those three in the lobby assured me Collen would.Off to bed and back to working the camps tomorrow.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a SicEm365 rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the SicEm365 Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide SicEm365 readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
