Road to Signing Day Recruiting Thread (12/1-12/5)
With the early signing period approaching on December 15th I thought now would be a good time to get this thread going to finish this week and then one next week and one the short week after. This thread will be updates only on the 2022 prospects who Baylor has interest in or is gaining interest in. I will post various tweets and news as I hear it on visits, offers, predictions, and just anything relevant to the 2022 class.12/3 2:56pmFormer four-star prospect and top 50 player in the nation for the 2019 class, Frank Ladson, entered the transfer portal today. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound wide receiver out of Miami decided to enter his name into the portal after three seasons at Clemson. He piled up 31 receptions for 428 yards and six touchdowns during those three seasons. He only played in four games this year due to injury, so he will be able to use this season as a redshirt giving himself two more years at whichever school he chooses. I bring up his name because of his connection to Chansi Stuckey who was in a player development role at Clemson in 2020 and was a graduate assistant there in 2019 so there is a relationship there. It is still too soon to tell how hard the staff will go after him but there definitely could be some interest here as Baylor is going to need to add production to its wide receiver room after this season.Side note….I saw him at The Opening Finals in 2019 and thought he was the best wide receiver on the field during the 7-on-7 portion, was very impressed. Long and fast with an ability to take the top off the defense.12/2 (12:10)College Park tight end Cody Mladenka will be getting his in-home visit from Dave Aranda on Tuesday. I expect many of the visits to occur next week as the Bears are in the middle of prep for the Big 12 Championship. Aranda is going to have to get a bunch done quick since the staff has an official visit coming up next weekend as well.12/2 (8:24)I could see Baylor giving Khris Bogle, former four-star prospect and top 100 player in the 2019 class, a look out of the transfer portal. In three seasons at Florida the 6-foot-4, 242-pound prospect has piled up 69 tackles, 12 for loss, and eight sacks. Coming out of high school he had offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M among others. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at the school he chooses but could very likely be a one and down candidate with a strong season.12/1 (4:54pm)Killeen Ellison defensive lineman Devonte Tezino will be taking his official visit the 10th-12th at Baylor but he is also looking to schedule an OV to Nebraska as well.Baylor was not in contact with Hightower wide receiver Caleb Douglas when I reached out on November 8th despite the fact that USC had already lost its coach. Now with Lincoln Riley coming in, Douglas decided to re-open his recruitment. There is a chance the staff circles back to him since the relationships are already in place with the staff and he already took his OV to Baylor. Douglas has two official visits left so it will be interesting to see where he uses those or if he even does. One thing I can tell you is that the 2022 commits have already started talking to the former commit about getting back in the class.I know the staff has been prioritizing Matthew Golden and staying in constant contact with Armani Winfield at the wide receiver position. I believe there is a chance Baylor gets both to take OV's soon which would obviously makes this a first two to commit situation as I don't believe they can take three more wide receivers in this class unless they feel like there is going to be a ton of attrition.12/1 (9:50am)In-home visits have started as Alvin Ebosele got a visit from Dave Aranda a couple days ago. Expect those to continue over the next week and a half with all of the commits as well as the priority targets in the class. With it being a game week the majority will happen next week.Kyler Jordan will get a visit from Dave Aranda tomorrow which will be Baylor's last chance to solidify things with him. Texas Tech HC Joey McGuire visited him last Sunday and re-offered him so clearly the Red Raiders have interest as signing day approaches.I put in a prediction for Klein Cain wide receiver Matthew Golden based on a couple things. The staff has made him a priority, the current commits are working hard to land him and seem to feel good about Baylor's chances, his relationship with the staff, and my gut feeling that Baylor has done enough to land him at the end. I have not added him to the OV list yet because I have not gotten confirmation on when he will take his but he told me last week Baylor will "most definitely" get one of his last four OV's.Austin Westlake DE Ethan Burke took an official visit to Michigan with his dad last weekend and took one to Kansas State two weekends ago when Baylor beat them. I believe he will take another OV this upcoming weekend then one to Baylor but need to confirm those still.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a SicEm365 rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the SicEm365 Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide SicEm365 readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Baylor and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Baylor and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
