Tuesday Updates
- I still feel good about Baylor's chances with Montana State offensive lineman Omar Aigbedion following his official visit this past weekend. He would be a tremendous addition to Baylor's front as a elite run-blocking guard who would establish a physicality and toughness in the trenches. Plus it would be a nice start for Chris Kapilovic as he looks to revamp Baylor's offensive line group after a dismal 2023 season. Aigbedion should be making a decision soon so keep an eye on this one as my prediction would be in Baylor's favor here.- After Baylor secured a commitment from Tyler J.C. nose tackle Tonga Lolohea there were obvious questions about Baylor taking him and Arkansas transfer Tank Booker. Baylor would love to have both on the roster for the 2024 season but it seems like they have work to do roster wise before that can happen as in Booker would have to fit in the best available category in order for the staff to take a second nose tackle in this cycle. It is certainly still possible but this isn't a sure thing to happen.- Gardner-Webb defensive end/outside linebacker Ty French committed to West Virginia last night in large part due to proximity to home as he is from Georgia and has family closer to West Virginia. Either way the staff is still going to try to work on him and change his mind. I do not think that will happen at this time but one thing I do know for sure is that Baylor is prioritizing the JACK position. It is clear the staff wants and needs a replacement for Byron Vaughns out of the transfer portal.- I mentioned Alex Foster yesterday in some notes if you want to catch up on his situation following the Texas official visit and his announcement about signing in February. I needed to add a little more to this. Baylor is not giving up trying to get him to sign him this week and in fact I would call it a priority for the staff this week. He is my highest rated player in this class and one they need to figure out how to get locked in.- China Spring defensive lineman Greydon Grimes is still in the 2024 class as of right now and nothing has changed up to this point. Grimes has not been vocal about what decision he is going to make so still unclear where this is heading. Colt and I have reported that he would not take up a scholarship even if he did sign with Baylor but I now have reason to believe he would indeed take up a scholarship spot if he signs with Baylor.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a SicEm365 rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the SicEm365 Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide SicEm365 readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Baylor and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Baylor and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
