Some quick housecleaning notes for today
- I expect a 2019 commitment in the near future. For more on this, check the "2019 note from Grayson" thread.- If Baylor had landed Tommy Bush there might have been more room needed to be made after the spring. - For similar reasons, Baylor took themselves out of the running for Joseph Ogunbanjo after his official visit. I can say that with confidence.- Priority for the second signing period was Johncarlo Valentin and they landed him. Massive pick up on all levels.- Still expecting Baylor to find a QB for 2018. No offers have been extended to any prospects to my knowledge.

Here's what I know re: Tommy Bush
Well, there's not a lot to know. I can tell you that there is very little information floating around four-star WR Tommy Bush that should make anyone believe he is trending in any specific direction. I can tell you that Grayson is headed to San Antonio tomorrow and will live stream the event from Facebook Live, but that's because I can't tell you it's definitely not Baylor more than I can tell you it is. We don't want to miss the action in the event that he does.I spoke with one person close to the situation that told me they wouldn't feel comfortable telling me that he was going to Baylor because they simply didn't know. This person also couldn't tell me that is was going to be Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss or Michigan State, either, and was guarded mainly because he didn't want to lead me in any one direction. I was told that Tommy was supposedly going to inform coaches from schools he was considering yesterday of his final decision. To my knowledge no such discussions have taken place with the Baylor coaching staff. Good or bad sign? You tell me. As for Tommy's visit to Baylor on Saturday, this is what he told me about it:"The Baylor visit was great. I had a great time with all the coaches and even got to arm wrestle Coach (Matt) Rhule. I lost."Saw some good wideout drills and got to talk with Coach Fritz about formations and scheme."But it was the last portion of the quote from Tommy that really might mean more than I originally thought. Tommy isn't typically coy, but I thought that he might have been with this final part. The more I think about it, however, the more I believe he was being sincere. "Baylor is a great school, always has been for me and my family. This will be a tough decision and my visit made it that much tougher."As for his visit to Texas, Tommy told me it was unplanned and, I quote, "on the fly." Obviously it was an unofficial visit, but I'm not so sure that it wasn't to build some additional suspense. We will know soon enough. Whatever happens, I wouldn't sweat it too much. The signing of Baylor's most important prospect is set to happen tomorrow regardless of what Tommy decides to do.
Tommy Bush discusses decision to take final official visit to Baylor
Four-star wide receiver Tommy Bush discusses why he chose to take his final official visit to Baylor.
What I know on Tommy Bush (Update 3:32 p.m.)
Update 3:32 p.m.: Tommy Bush will take an official visit to Baylor starting Saturday morning.Piecing the puzzle pieces together here...- Tommy Bush told me he will have an in-home visit with Tom Herman tonight.- Based on how that in-home visit goes, Tommy will decide on if he takes an official visit to Baylor or Texas this weekend.- The official visit will begin on Saturday morning "if he takes one"... that quote is from Tommy today. My opinion: Someone suggested this to me and I think it's very accurate. Tommy is wanting to follow through with the in-home visits that he has scheduled before announcing any visit publicly. He has been very thorough through this entire process and he will make sure to respect those recruiting him. If the rumor that he will visit Baylor this weekend is true AND Georgia's in-home visit tomorrow night is up in the air now, I really like my prediction that Baylor is the place he ends up.
