Quin Bright

This was a pretty weak group at the running back position as far as depth goes but there were still a few that made enough plays to stand out.-Once again I got to see West Mesquite's Ty Jordan and he did not disappoint. He is so quick and explosive but also is able to maintain his balance really well which can be a tricky thing. He also runs very good routes which makes him even more of a nightmare to deal with. He has built a good relationship with Coach Nixon so it will be interesting to see how that relationship grows and if Baylor can keep themselves in the race.-Manor's Tahj Brooks was impressive. He does not appear to have the fastest straight line speed but he is very quick and shifty despite his stalky build. He is very strong and has good balance. Brooks showed off a ton of skills in the cat and mouse drill that caught everyones attention.-2022 Cedar Hill RB Chris Hicks showed that his youth does not matter. He has such a good burst and proved it with his 4.5 40 time that he ran. He still has some work to do refining his cuts and skills as a ball carrier but the athletic ability jumps off the charts.https://twitter.com/3hunnidF/status/1102325680342208515-Now to the wide receivers. Dallas Jesuit's EJ Smith showed why he has so many offers. I had not gotten to see him in person and Baylor has not offered yet so I have not given him much attention but he can flat out play. He ran some effective routes, caught the ball consistently with his hands. Oklahoma commit DJ Graham put up a 120.51 testing score and Ohio State commit Jaxon Smith-Njiba put up a 119.67. These two were far and away the best testers at the camp and looked good in drills as well. Tough seeing top talent leave the state so often but it is the norm now.-Some of usual camp killers had good days. Cedar Hill's Quin Bright was getting open all day long and showed some nice burst on some deep balls. Aledo's JoJo Earle and Lancaster's Majik Rector continue to get open every camp and make DB's look silly in the process. Prestonwood's Riley Wilson was in this category Sunday as well which is why he won WR MVP. Lone Star's Marvin Mims is another guy that consistently got open at camp but his smooth style of play really stands out to me. The Colony's Keith Miller had another impressive day. He has strong hands and he showed those off all day. I am still unsure on his speed but his 6'4 frame is legit. Desoto's Lawrence Arnold is another big receiver that impresses at camps. He runs really nice routes and uses his body to shield off defenders well.-How about three studs in the 2021 class. The Green twins out of Allen were so good today and Baylor really wants them both. They also really like Baylor and have been there multiple times. Bryson Green had a 109.05 testing score and Blaine Green had a 106.02. Would love for this duo to end up at Baylor. I also have to bring up one of the fastest risers in this class Quaydarius Davis out of Skyline. He made some guys look silly today and he is definitely a talker but he backed it up.
