-North Shore 2021 QB Dematrius Davis was the best quarterback at the camp and it wasn't close. His ball placement was elite on Sunday. I also like his throwing motion it allows him to get the ball out quickly without too much wasted motion. Plus he has great athleticism which is not something that shows in these camps.-Some other QB's to note. I have liked Tomball's Hunter Dunn for a while and he looked solid in person, Pearland JD Head had a nice camp, and 2021 Lake Travis QB Nate Yarnell was very good as well.-North Shore RB Zach Evans went through drills at camp but did not compete in one on one's and just kind of went through the motions. When he did try his blend of speed, quickness, and size is off the charts. No clue where he is going right now but whoever gets him will obviously be very happy.-2020 Cy Ranch RB Willie Eldridge had a very impressive camp. He caught the ball really well in one on one's and showed some good speed in the process.-2020 Tomball WR Demond Demas might be the best player in the state. He started off warm-ups doing about 15 back flips in a row then he went out and dominated every corner he saw. He has a unique blend of speed and size but his biggest attribute is his quickness in and out of routes. Big receivers can struggle with that part of the game but he excels. Round Rock's Collin Sullivan continues to impress with his speed and length, A&M Consolidated's Devin Price was much better than I thought he would be, Fort Bend Austin's Troy Omiere was a little underwhelming even though his size and length are ridiculous, and 2021 Richmond Foster WR Cody Jackson was the best receiver there not named Demond.-I had seen all of those guys play in person before so I kind of knew what to expect but one that I had not seen that really played well today was 2020 Lufkin WR Ja'Lynn Polk . At 6'3, he is a matchup problem and his ability to catch the ball with his hands was impressive. I liked the way he was able to create separation from defenders consistently. His size and athleticism is legit plus he can flat out move. Horace made some great grabs at the camp and was a guy that caught the attention of the on-field coaches and the media.https://twitter.com/TheOldCoach/status/1097315315044753408-The three best offensive lineman at the camp today were 2020 Kempner OL Akinola Ogunbiyi , 2021 Richmond Foster OL Reuben Fatheree , and 2021 Bellaire Episcopal OL Donovan Jackson . Ogbunbiyi really stood out to me at the guard position with a big strong frame that makes him an immovable object at times, he also flashed some decent athleticism which is something I was concerned about with him. Fatheree has such a unique body which gives him the highest ceiling of anyone that was at the camp. His wingspan and height are things you can't teach and his athleticism is special. It took him a while to get in a groove because he has been focusing on basketball for the past few months but once he shook off the rust he was great. Jackson is so good. No one could get by him on the edge. He has great feet and perfect balance to go along with precise hand placement and technique which makes him a matchup nightmare at camps. Guys purposefully were avoiding his side to rush because he was that good.-2022 Atascocita OL Kameron Dewberry was not out of place today. He belongs on the field with the older guys and his recruitment will blow up very soon. His only offer right now is Baylor.-Some other OL quick-hitters. Hightower's A&M commit Smart Chibuzo was strong and agile, Atascosita's Jermarques Bailey has very strong hands but he loses balance too easily and has poor technique, O'Connor's UT commit Logan Parr is a warrior but is not as good as some of the others right now, College Park's A&M commit Josh Bankhead had a really bad day and looked overmatched, 2021 Waller OL Augustus Rice needs to reshape his body, and in the 2021 Katy Taylor OL debate give me Bryce Foster over Hayden Conner all day and Foster didn't even participate.-I talked to UTSA's coach Frank Wilson for about 30 minutes as he was on the field watching his son at the camp. He really like what Coach Rhule is doing with the program and thinks he is a great man. As a preview for next years game, he thinks UTSA will be a lot better than they were this year. The QB position absolutely killed them a year ago. I asked him about Tariq Woolen and he said he will probably be their best receiver this year. Baylor really went after him but couldn't sway him. He is a great guy to talk to. His son is small but had eight interceptions last year at Brandeis high school in San Antonio. Wilson told me two of them were against Baylor quarterback Jacob Zeno.
