Thursday morning notes...
- As you know, Cam Jones of Mansfield has set up his official visit to Baylor for this weekend, joining Mansfield teammate Jackson Gleeson. Joey McGuire is the lead recruiter for Jones, but Jones also spent time with Fran Brown during an in-home visit recently. https://twitter.com/camgonework15/status/938621606225764357- Baylor had an in-home visit with Texas A&M DE commit Tyree Wilson after recently extending an offer. I'm not sure which coaches were in attendance, but word is that an official visit could happen. - Four-star WR Tommy Bush had an in-home visit with Fran Brown and Bob Bicknell Wednesday evening. "It went well. Coach Fran is very easy to talk with and Coach Bicknell really showed m how important my length would be in this pro-style offense. ... Really liked the pro style with the ability to adjust routes based on coverage." Bush is set to officially visit Georgia this weekend leaving him two official visits to take. - Baylor is now out of the mix for four-star DT Christian Barmore. Signs are pointing to him heading to Alabama, but the Baylor staff has cut communication and beginning to focus on other options. - Texas has pushed further away from Baylor commit Joshua Landry after a recent offer to Katy DL Moro Ojomo (6-3, 275). The Longhorns are now the favorites for Ojomo and that could mean good things for Baylor holding on to Landry. Texas has also extended offers to other DL recently. - Four-star WR Miles Battle got a Twitter follow from Baylor co-OC Jeff Nixon. I can't give you any specifics on this right now, but I can tell you that Baylor was very high on Battle prior to his commitment to Oregon. Battle recently decommitted from the Ducks.

Monday morning recruiting notes
I have had a few additional conversations + Brian was able to send a couple of notes as well to include. If both prospects want to commit, Baylor will take both Tommy Bush and Tyquan Thornton. Thornton came in unexpectedly on the unofficial visit and had a great time. Neither is viewed as a backup plan and would be taken on their own merit. Regarding Thornton, there is a reason for optimism from one source in bringing the former commit back into the fold. He had a great time on the official visit and the coaching change at Florida isn't hurting the cause. I posted about Gerry Bohanon last night but was able to get a little more feedback from a source close to the situation. Keep in mind that GB has planned to announce on Dec. 20 publicly for quite a while, regardless of how soon we knew the intentions. So those asking why he wants to wait... what he is doing isn't uncommon. "Baylor feels good about (Gerry). All signs are pointing towards him choosing Baylor, but always nervous something could change." Keep in mind that Bohanon was supposed to be in the playoffs this weekend and the first call he made was to the Baylor staff to get his official visit set up after Earle had to forfeit their games for playing an ineligible player. He was looking at a Dec. 15 official visit more than likely had this not occurred... leaving no time for other official visits. The big man in the group, defensive lineman Christian Barmore, flew under the radar until Friday morning when it was discovered that he was headed to Waco with his parents. I spoke with one contact familiar with Barmore who said the following:"He really bonded with the staff (this weekend) the best because they're both from up there.... Baylor has a shot with him. He spent a lot of time with the staff and when you spend that much time with great people, it's hard to turn them down."Don't expect much coming in way of quotes from Barmore. We will try to provide some more insight as we get it. After the visits concluded the biggest question I had was about Craig Williams. Without any hesitation, "110% solid" is the response I received. He has had a couple of in-home visitors but he is set to sign later this month. Joey McGuire had an in-home visit with Bobby Brown on Sunday. I was able to catch up with the defensive lineman briefly this morning and the Texas A&M commit told me that an official visit to Baylor was still a possibility. The last thing... commit Casey Phillips is set to take his official visit this weekend.

The meat from the weekend
- There is reason to feel very good about Byron Hanspard. I put my prediction in for Baylor to land the four-star DB last week and there is nothing that changed my opinion. - Baylor "feels good" about Christian Barmore is what I have been told by two separate contacts from opposite ends of the spectrum. I'm not ready to put in my prediction for the defensive tackle, but that might change depending on a conversation or two that need to happen. - Gerry Bohanon is looking to take more visits but as of right now nothing is set up. The biggest fear here continues to be Arkansas and the direction they go for their coach. The thing playing in Baylor's favor is that Arkansas has a QB committed who likely isn't going anywhere regardless of who is hired. - Believe it or not, Baylor might have played themselves right back in it for Tyquan Thornton. Dan Mullen at Florida has a little work to do to keep him in the fold.- The bond between the commitments is really strong. It was mentioned last year, but this staff wants to build the class and then turn it over to the class to hold itself accountable. This is holding true right now. This is just a general overview of the feedback I have received since the visits ended. Only four uncommitted prospects on campus and information becomes limited. We will get some more indepth pieces with committed prospects throughout the week.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a SicEm365 rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the SicEm365 Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide SicEm365 readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
