On Friday morning, Baylor landed its first defensive lineman of the 2018 class in Houston Lamar defensive tackle Joshua Landry. Landry, a 6-foot-3, 265-pound prospect, has been the Baylor staff’s sole focus at the position for his class.
Landry joined receiver Kalon Barnes (Silsbee) as Baylor's second commitment in the last 24 hours. He is Baylor's 12th commitment of the 2018 class.

Landry’s commitment comes on the heels of his attendance at Baylor’s Spring game on April 22. Following the game, Landry told SicEm365 that defensive line coach Elijah Robinson’s attention to detail caught his eye.
“Just the fact that Coach E pays attention to the small things and makes sure everything you do is right,” Landry responded when asked about things that stood out for him about the visit.
At The Opening regional in Houston in February, Landry recorded a 90.63 SPARQ rating. The score placed him as the No. 4-ranked defensive lineman at the event and No. 1 among potential defensive tackles.
A 3-star recruit, Landry holds offers from Kansas State, Arizona State, Houston, Nebraska, and Texas Tech, among others. He was a first-team all-district selection in his Junior season.
