95 Days till Kickoff: Baylor’s #95 Gabe Hall

Gabe Hall, a Redshirt Junior, will be a key piece in this upcoming season to what is arguably one of the best defensive lines in the country. Hall is entering his fourth year at Baylor, but due to redshirting the 2020 season, he has two years of eligibility remaining. Hall is a communications major and made the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll twice. Not only does he make an impact on the field, but Hall also takes pride in being a leader for the younger players and enjoys being one of the hardest workers on the team.
The 2021 season was not only a great year for the Bears but also for Gabe Hall. He played in 13 games and started 8 of those. Playing in 13 games was a great sign for Hall, considering injury issues in the past. He finished the season with 17 tackles and finished second on the team with 6 sacks. He was also fourth on the team with 7 tackles for loss. In a crucial late-season game against Kansas State in Manhattan, Hall set a single game-high in tackles (4) and sacks (3). He was the first Baylor player since James Lynch (2019) to record three sacks in a single game.
In the 2020 season opener against Kansas, Hall recorded two solo tackles. But after some bouts with injury, he elected to redshirt the rest of the Covid plagued season where the Bears finished with a 2-7 record in Dave Aranda’s first season in Waco.
As a true freshman in 2019, Hall appeared in eight games and missed six due to injury. In the season opener against Stephen F. Austin, Hall blocked his first career kick. He then recorded two quarterback hurries in the thrilling 23-21 victory over Iowa State in Waco. He finished his freshman year with three total tackles, two of those being against Kansas State on November 8th.
Out of high school, the Waller, Texas, native earned a three-star grade from 247 Sports and was considered the No. 53 player in Texas and the No. 31 defensive tackle in the country. In the summer of 2018, he committed to Baylor over TCU, Texas Tech, and Tennessee, among many other offers.
