94 Days till Kickoff: Josh Gordon 94-yard TD reception from RGIII
As always, keep track of both the stats and roster countdowns in the Offseason Hub!
We had to dip back into the history books a little for today’s stat countdown. Believe it or not, it's been about 12 years since Josh Gordon caught a quick screen from Robert Griffin III and took it 94 yards to the house against Kansas in 2010.
Gordon finished the day with 161 yards and two TDs on just four receptions. He finished the year with 7 TDs and 714 yards on 42 receptions through his 13 games that year. The seven TDs led the team, as did his 17.0 yards per catch. Gordon also ranked 14th in Big 12 with 54.9 receiving yards per game that year.
That game was on October 2nd and the Bears went on to wallop the Jayhawks 55-7. The Green and Gold finished that season 7-6 and 4-4 in the Big 12, dropping the Texas Bowl to Illinois.
In retrospect, we can all enjoy knowing that 2010 was just the warm-up for Griffin to lead the Bears to a 10-3 record and claim the Heisman Trophy in 2011.
