83 Days till Kickoff: Baylor’s #83 Elijah Bean
As always, keep track of both the stats and roster countdowns in the Offseason Hub!
Elijah Bean is entering his second year at Baylor, but due to redshirting the 2021 season, he will have three years of eligibility remaining past this season. While at Baylor, he is also planning on getting a degree in biology.
In his senior year at Summer Creek High School, Bean had 34 receptions for 526 yards and three touchdowns. According to 247, Bean was rated a three-star prospect and was the No. 55 wide receiver in the country and the No. 54 player in Texas. He picked Baylor over Arkansas, Northwestern, Utah, and Pittsburgh.
Our own Travis Roeder offered former Baylor receiver, Jay Lee, as a player comparison for Bean. At 6-foot-5, 203 pounds Bean is a big target along the sidelines, and he has the speed to beat defenders deep. He ran an 11.05-second 100, a 21.75 200, and a 48.77 400 in high school. So go routes and stop routes, as Travis said in his comparison to Jay Lee should be his wheelhouse.
