As always, keep track of both the stats and roster countdowns in the Offseason Hub!

Baylor was the top-scoring offense in the nation from 2013 to 2015, thanks in part to great quarterback play from Bryce Petty and Seth Russell or great talent from the guys out wide like Corey Coleman, KD Cannon, and Antwan Goodley. But one of the key contributors on those teams that doesn’t seem to garner the same attention as the others was running back Shock Linwood.

During his time in Waco (2013-2016), Linwood holds BU records for rushing yards (4,213), career rushing TDs (36), and points scored (222).

He also holds the Baylor record of 5.9 yards per rushing attempt. With the passing game stretching opponents vertically and horizontally, it allowed Linwood to make his mark bruising opponents inside the box. Powerful offensive lines, a great passing game, and aggressive running paved the way for Linwood to have almost 6 yards per carry every time he touched the football.

He is second all-time, only behind Walter Abercrombie, with sixteen 100-yard games. He is third all-time at Baylor for average rushing yards per game (87.77) and is tied for second with Lache Seastrunk with four consecutive 100-yard rushing games.

Shock Linwood’s 2015 junior season was statically the third-best year for a Baylor running back of all time, only behind Terrance Ganaway in 2011 and Abram Smith in 2021. Linwood ran for 1,329 yards and 10 touchdowns on 196 attempts. In the 12 games he played, Linwood averaged 110.75 rushing yards per contest and was honored with Second Team All-Big 12 at the conclusion of the season.
