Connor Galvin, Mose Jeffrey and Khalil Keith: Football, Food, and Expectations

August 4, 2022

Baylor football offensive linemen Connor Galvin, Mose Jeffrey and Khalil Keith joined Paul Catalina for an Athlete+ interview.

  • They are a cohesive group on and off the field. Many time after practice the OL will go watch film together right away, with food of course.
  • They sort of decided as a group to stay at Baylor back during the coaching change.
  • Eric Mateos has brought a hard-working but relaxed vibe to the position group, which helps them reduce stress and just focus on the task at hand. They also have their fair share of fun.
  • In case anyone was concerned, these guys say that Dave Aranda is the same behind closed doors as he is in public.
  • The Big 12 championship hasn’t changed the team’s standard at all. They are still working hard with the same mindset, though they do know they are the hunted this year.
  • Connor Galvin is a self-proclaim cook who has learned a good bit from Blake Blackmar.
  • In a wing-eating contest, most say Gavin Byers would win.
  • The worst part of the first week of Fall camp is either the young guys going overboard to prove themselves or just physically getting used to it all again.
  • This unit trusts their depth. They know they have 7 or 8 guys that can do the job.
  • With Blake Shapen taking over at QB, things change less than you might think. They worked with Blake plenty last year and they still have to protect him and keep the run game effective to allow the offense to be balanced.
  • Best movie you have seen recently? The new Batman or the new Dr. Strange, they know they need to see Top Gun.
  • Who is the Batman of the OL? Jacob Gall apparently.
