BREAKING: Baylor picks up 2019 commitment from WR Jaylen Ellis
Baylor has landed a commitment from 2019 Round Rock (TX) Cedar Ridge wide receiver Jaylen Ellis (6-0, 180). Ellis, who is Baylor's first commitment of the 2019 class, received an offer from Baylor on Thursday afternoon.
Ellis camped with Baylor last Sunday without an offer, but an impressive 4.39-second 40-yard dash and 37-inch vertical to go along with impressive drill work allowed the junior to earn it a few days after returning home Waco.
On Sunday Ellis was able to take a tour of campus and spend time around several of the coaches, but it was on the field that Ellis knew he had found the staff he wanted to play for at the next level.
"Being around the staff for almost a whole day at that camp was where I found trust in them," Ellis said. "They not only taught me things in my positions, but they showed me emotions and actions that I like to see in a coach.
As a sophomore, Ellis caught 27 passes for 800 yards and 12 touchdowns.
