Ten Things That Stood Out Against Kansas

Baylor and Kansas squared off in McLane Stadium on Saturday and the Bears came away victorious for the fourth time this year.

  1. Baylor starts strong on offense and defense and it was desparately needed for the confidence of the team
  2. Baylor’s defense is controlling the line and keeping Bean in the pocket with the wind affecting the game.
  3. Baylor should be up 35-3 at half, but a couple of plays, looking like a heat check from Shapen, resulted in turnovers
  4. Kansas has 70 yards in a the half and it isn’t due to miscues, Baylor is dominating
  5. Please protect the ball Blake Shapen‍ when you have a defensive lineman near you
  6. Baylor has controlled the line of scrimmage and just self destructed for short periods again
  7. Hate to see Cole Maxwell‍ take a friendly fire shot to the knee and him go down with a possible injury to the same knee he hurt against BYU
  8. And here we go to the 4th quarter with Kansas driving and Baylor defense in need of a stop and the offense needs to get back in the end zone
  9. And just like that, the safeties are lost. The corners are lost and Kansas is picking the secondary apart with 209 yards in the second half
  10. Have yourself a game Richard Reese‍
  11. Baylor dug deep on the final drive to finish off the game

I hate when Baylor's defense is facing third and long. That is when the other team finds the hole in the zone for a long first down.

it seems like this has always been the case with Baylor defenses, last year may have been an exception though. I remember telling my wife when KU had a 3rd & 13 or something like that " they got us right where they want us" of course they converted.

Three and out seems like decades ago or even six and out would be acceptible. The three man rush is pretty bad and we will be killed at Tech if this continues.

You act like we didn't have one of the best defenses in the country just last season.
