I can't stand our guards! When we can't shoot it from 3's! Stop shooting them and work it inside!

Down 36 - 26 at the half.

1-17 on threes. We need to make some shots.

9 of 40 shooting. Wow. Many were easy layups. Our offense is so incredibly disjointed. Let's see if Collen can make some adjustments. 6% shooting on 3's. Lord help us in the Big 12.

Should be working the ball, cutting to the hoop when the outside shooting is not working.

Wish caitlin Bickle got to play more but she's in foul trouble! Our guards need to play better! Asberry needs to shoot better

I've never been high on asberry! When she shoots poorly she doesn't do anything else well.

Is this our first home nonconference loss to a team not named UConn since 2007? Last year's South Dakota dbcle notwithstanding.

Inexplicable poor free throw shooting every year. Regardless who the players are, regardless who the coach is.

We did a lot poorly today, but still could have won just shooting decently from the free throw line.

Is Kendra and Erica Hurt. With Jamee not playing well they should have atleast gotten and opportunity. Do we anticipate having Dre any this year.

I've been watching these teams for over 20 years. I don't believe we have ever had a team that could shoot free throws decently. We have lost many games because of it.....while watching the opponents drain free throw after free throw. Men aren't any better, especially if our bigs are the ones fouled.

Team did look a lot better today from what I saw. Bickle makes a big difference. Too bad we lost Blackwell. The last thing we needed. Hopefully the freshmen will grow into their roles.

I don't know why we start her! With Owens and Sarah, when they don't shoot well they contribute in other ways but with asberry she's a liability on both ends when she shoots poor

Simply put, this game was lost by an anemic offense and really bad three-point shooting. The defense was not great, but a poor defensive performance can be overlooked if you can score.

20.7% from three will NEVER cut it in the Big 12. Luckily, the schedule gets easier for the next few weeks before Arizona. Let's hope they'll be tuned up by then!

I think the offensive sets were okay, given our personnel on the court, but players have to make shots when the offense gets them open. Buggs missed easy shots again under the basket in the first half, but settled down and hit a few in second half, including some short jumpers. Jaymee needs to just take a deep breath and settle in. She's rushing to get her sot off, and consequently, not really seeing her target. Sarah is streaky and when she gets hot, look out! Just need her to heat up faster. Jana played better. Penetrated and kicked or took to rim. Got foul calls a couple of times, I think, but also committed some turnovers, when refs didn't give her the calls. Really, shot making is getting in gym and lots of repetitions. Got some time now at Thanksgiving and after finals. I think we can all see the game was there for the taking. The team and coaching staff will see that, too, and use it to coach the team up. But let's be honest, when Blackwell became unavailable, didn't most of us think we might struggle to put points on the board, especially against taller teams? We held our own and put ourselves in a position to win. Now need to sharpen execution and get in gym and shoot. We have time to work on it before conference.

In her post game interview CNC said that Maryland plays 5 guards, not good for our bigs, but they will be important in upcoming games.

When our guards can't shoot, they need to get the ball to Bickle! Bickle played well in her short time due to foul trouble!

Eight new players, 3 freshman and our go to player out. This team needs time to readjust and our talented new comers just need time. Let's support them while time takes its course!

I'll always support them but there's no excuse for our guards to stink up on offense! We can't take 29 shots from 3's and only make 6! And these guards that took so many 3's are Asberry and Andrews who has lots of experience! They needed to adjust.

They need to hit shots. It is the coach's job to get players open shots. It's the players' jobs to make them. We'll get some good game play in at Thanksgiving tournament. Still think this team may surprise people, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Biggest takeaways from last night:

1. We need to play better team defense. To let Diamond Miller play downhill like that most of the night with some 3's sprinkled in, is not good. Need better help and flashing over.

2. We were nowhere near full strength. Edwards comes back I believe after the break and who knows when Blackwell will return. This will be a much better team later in the season, if we can stay healthy. This is the first time I remember starting a year with so many of your better players out.

3. Good to see Caitlin in there and this is a better team when she is playing, no matter who the personnel is.

4. Asberry has to either find her shot more consistently or, she needs to watch the game from the sidelines. I know that sounds harsh but, her height is a defensive liability. Look to the longer, taller 1st year players to fill that roll defensively and offensive rebounding. Buggs was impressive last night, it will be interesting if she can maintain that level of play as teams start to scout her more.

5. We need to have an exorcism at the Farrell to get rid of "Kim's curse". I am referring to the horrible team free throw shooting that one other poster mentioned has always been a curse of the FC for decades.

6. We are not a great 3 point shooting team (at this time). We need to have more midrange shooting and the 3's to keep them honest.

7. I like the playing time that Buggs and Bella are getting, it may shrink a little later in the year but, they are getting some game time experience when it counts.

Overall. given the horrendous shooting last night, the fact that Maryland turned it over at a 2-to-1 ratio, and we were depleted of starters, it was a promising game and as long as we can stay healthy, we have a good chance to do well.
