IRVING, Texas – For the second-straight week, and fourth time this season, Baylor women’s basketball’s Darianna Littlepage-Buggs has been tabbed the Big 12 Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

The Edmond, Okla., native became the first rookie in the league to earn the award four times this year and is the first Bear to be recognized on four occasions since Lauren Cox collected the honor just as many times during the 2016-17 campaign.

In a 20-point win at Texas Tech on Saturday, Littlepage-Buggs logged her team-leading eighth double-double, finishing with a team-high 16 points and 10 rebounds. Her eight double-doubles are the most among rookies in the Big 12 and tied for the third most in the conference.

Littlepage-Buggs shot a league-best 83.3% (5-for-6) from the floor and went a career-best 6-for-8 from the charity stripe. The forward added three blocks, an assist and a steal in 26 minutes of action.

Baylor returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Kansas at 7 p.m. inside the Ferrell Center.

If she can develop a jumper she'll be deadly.

I think her midrange jumper will improve as the year progresses. If she can extend her range to the arc next year she will be that much harder to contend with. Her defense will be stronger with a year of experience and if she gains more strength without losing any flexibility she will be that much better. I believe she will garner more national attention next season and be in the running for the All-American team before she is done. Not to overlook Bella, she has similar potential. I think both of them will become that player that you can count on to keep you out of any long scoring draughts, while supplying solid defense and rebounding.
