No. 20 Baylor Softball Drops Two During Day Two of the Louisville Slugger Invitational
LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 20 Baylor softball dropped both ends of Thursday afternoon’s doubleheader on day two of the Louisville Slugger Invitational, falling 2-0 to Boston University and then 2-1 to Long Beach State.
The Bears, now 18-4 on the season, were held scoreless in game one for just the second time this season.
THE RUNDOWN
After two scoreless innings in game one, Boston University plated a single run in the third and fourth innings to take the 2-0 lead.
The Bears threatened in the second inning, but the real threat came in the bottom of the seventh when the Bears loaded the bases after a couple of hits and a walk before a groundout ended the Bears’ threat.
In game two, Long beach State took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second.
The Bears had runners on in the first three innings, but were sat down in order in the next three.
Baylor rallied in the top of the seventh, after Josie Bower was hit by a pitch and Sydney Collazos and Ana Watson singled to load the bases. McKenzie Wilson reached on a fielder’s choice, which brought home a run, but a groundout ended the late-inning rally short.
