Baylor Softball’s Orme Named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week
WACO, Texas – Baylor softball junior Dariana Orme was recognized as the Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office.
Orme, who previously won the award on Feb. 21, becomes the first Baylor pitcher to win multiple conference weekly awards in a season since Gia Rodoni was honored with Pitcher of the Week honors six times during the 2018 season.
Garnering the third conference weekly award of the season for the Bears, Orme picked up three wins on the week, appearing in four of the Bears' five games. She posted a 0.91 ERA through 23.0 innings pitched.
The junior struck out 27 batters over the course of four games and pitched three seven-inning complete games with two shutout appearances. During her three complete games, she only allowed eight hits from the 78 batters faced.
In the Bears' 7-1 victory over Houston on March 17, Orme didn’t walk a single batter, striking out six and only allowing three hits. That was the third time this season that she did not walk a single batter.
Orme and the Bears take on UT Arlington on Wednesday, March 22, at 11:30 a.m. CT in Arlington, Texas.
