LAWRENCE, Kan. – Baylor baseball (9-18, 2-6) extended its losing streak to six games after falling to Kansas (11-16, 2-3), 13-6, in Saturday’s contest at Hoglund Ballpark.

Junior RHP Will Rigney started on the bump for the Bears Saturday and struggled to find the strike zone early.

Baylor’s offense combined for eight hits on the afternoon.

In the first inning, KU added two runs after starting the game with back-to-back-to-back hits.

Baylor’s offense responded by putting up three runs in the third to take the lead, 3-2. Sophomore 3B Hunter Teplanszky hit a solo homer in the frame, his third of the season.

Rigney surrendered another run in the bottom of the third and finished allowing three earned runs and five hits in three innings pitched on 52 pitches.

Junior lefty Cam Caley replaced Rigney and gave up a four-spot in the fourth; all four runs came with two outs.

The Jayhawks added a run in the sixth and three in the seventh to extend their lead to 11-4.

In the eighth, junior two-way player Cole Tremain hit a 2-RBI double off the centerfield wall to cut the KU lead to 11-6.

In relief, junior RHP Adam Muirhead walked back-to-back batters in the eighth with the bases loaded to put Kansas up 13-6. Muirhead finished walking five batters in 1.2 innings pitched.
