WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s basketball head coach Nicki Collen announced the signing of transfer Jada Walker from Kentucky on Monday.

“Jada is fearless on the basketball court,” Collen said. “What she lacks in size, she makes up for with toughness and skill. Jada is a coach’s kid that wants to win, whether that is to score, take a charge, or get a steal.  She showed her ability to both score and facilitate at Kentucky and is at her best in the open floor. Some of her biggest games at Kentucky came against the best competition, so we know she is battle tested and ready. We are so excited to see her grow and flourish as a part of our Baylor family.”

In her two-year career with the Wildcats, Walker made 62 appearances, including 53 starts, while averaging 11.7 points per game in nearly 30 minutes a contest. As a rookie, Walker landed a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team, ranking second on the team in steals (47) and third in assists (64).

A native of Richmond, Va., Walker started all 31 games for Kentucky in 2022-23, averaging 12.9 points per game and 3.1 rebounds per game. The 5-7 guard reached double-figure scoring on 21 occasions, notching four 20-point performances. She also added 2.6 steals per game, finishing with 81 on the year, to lead the SEC in both categories.

Walker was rated as the 18th-best point guard in the 2021 class. A four-star guard by ESPN.com, she surpassed the 1,000-point mark as a sophomore in high school.
