Baylor Track & Field Sends 14 Entries to Austin for NCAA Outdoor Championships

AUSTIN, Texas – Baylor track and field and its 14 entries descend on UT’s Mike A. Myers Stadium for the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. The meet begins with the men on Wednesday and will rotate daily with the women through Saturday evening.

Wednesday will feature the national semifinals on the track and the finals in the field for the men. Chinecherem Prosper Nnamdi, who is ranked No. 4 in the nation, will open the meet in the javelin throw at 5:40 p.m. CT. The sophomore is scheduled to throw in the seventh spot in Heat Two for his second-straight All-American finish.

Also competing in a final round on Wednesday is pole vaulter Ben Conacher, with his event beginning at 6:20 p.m.

Hasani Barr (400m), Matthew Moorer (400m), Nathaniel Ezekiel (400mH), Demar Francis (200m) and Kamden Jackson (200m) are all set for semifinal competition, followed by the men’s 4x400-meter relay to close Day One at 9:48 p.m.

Day Two begins with the women’s 4x100-meter relay at 7:32 p.m. and will feature both relays, Gontse Morake (400mH) and Mariah Ayers (200m) in semifinal competition. Annamaria Kostarellis will compete for the 10,000-meter title in her very first NCAA Championship appearance at 10:08 p.m. wearing hip No. 22.

Friday, the men could feature BU in four events: 400 meters, 400-meter hurdles, 200 meters and the 4x400-meter relay. The Bears are scheduled to take the track first at 9:02 p.m.

Saturday’s competition will see Koi Johnson in the triple jump finals at 8:10 p.m., and has the opportunity to feature Baylor in the 4x100-meter relay, 400-meter hurdles, 200 meters and 4x400-meter relay finals, with the first beginning at 8:02 p.m.

Fans watching from home can track the action all week long with live results from Flash Results. The meet will also be broadcast across the ESPN family of networks, with individual field events streamed on ESPN+. A full schedule can be found on the NCAA website. Tickets are still available through the Texas ticket office.
