1.  September 14-17 to travel to North Carolina and stay at the new and beautiful JB Duke Hotel on campus. Private tour of the famous Cameron Indoor Stadium.

2. Extend your stay September 17-19 and enjoy the beauty and history of Pinehurst since 1895.  Pinehurst golf courses are routinely rated one of the top courses in the US.

3. Includes room; bus transportation; game tickets; cooked to order breakfasts each morning; wifi/internet; pregame meal with the Baylor Alumni Sports group; fine dining Friday night (airfare sold out unless you are going to Pinehurst.  Contact Gary if you plan to do that and need airfare). LIMITED to 60 rooms total (there are a handful of rooms available as of 8/5/17 first come first serve).

Duke University Golf Club
Beautiful 18-hole championship Duke University Golf Course

Enjoy a fun and challenging day with friends, family or colleagues on one of Durham's most celebrated golf courses. The beautiful 18-hole championship Duke University Golf Club opened in 1957 and is the only Robert Trent Jones-designed course in the region. Duke University Golf Club was the site of the 2001 NCAA Men's Golf Championship and is considered one of the top ten golf courses in North America. Play in the Baylor golf tournament at 8 a.m. on Friday the 16th.

Remember that this is homecoming for Duke.  Hotel rooms are pricey and hard to find near the stadium as a result.  Jump on this if you want to stay right on campus and be surrounded by other Sicem365/Baylor folks.

PRICING

  • $939 per person double occupancy for 3 night Duke portion
  • $1359 per person double occupancy for Pinehurst extension
  • $1439 per person single occupancy for 3 night Duke portion
  • If you are already signed up, make sure you pay the remaining balance to Gary.
  • SicEm365 drawing winners- willyric and VoltronG (thanks to the generosity of two members) are good to go.  Just make sure you get your info to Gary for airfare.

Baylorfans.com folks, there are 75+ going on this trip from this site. I just spoke with Gary Simpson today and he mentioned that he had a few rooms available if anyone wants to jump on this. He's sold out of airfare unless you want to extend and golf at Pinehurst for a couple of days. If you have not traveled with Gary, his trips are always top notch and he tries to throw in some cool surprises along the way.

SicEm365 gets no compensation from this, just making it available if there are any that would like to join. We would love to have you.

We wonder if we could get a room for two on the Friday night. I mean, if it's going to waste, why not have two Bears in there? We live in SC and will drive up.

Around the world, Pinehurst is where the American golf story is rooted, and where it continues to flourish. Most know of its modern history with stories like the Payne Stewart putt that won the 1999 U.S. Open. But locked with its archives are thousands of moments that define each generation for the past 100 years. We are America's first golf resort, but also a world-class tennis, spa, meetings, special events and family destination.

My husband and I live down on the NC coast. We will be driving over to Duke for the game. Is there a dedicated Baylor tailgate and if so where? I have been to Wallace-Wade before (my husband is an NC State grad) Tailgating there is difficult at best.

Also, what section are the Baylor seats?

Thanks!

Ditto on the tailgate - wife and I will be flying up for this one and would love to hit an early tailgate with some Baylor folks.

Friday Dinner 6pm-9pm at The Pit
North Carolina is known for its legendary barbecue joints. The Pit continues this proud tradition by serving authentic whole-hog, pit-cooked barbecue in a beautifully restored 1950s bottling warehouse in downtown Durham.

A celebration of North Carolina's down-home culinary offerings, The Pit has become an internationally recognized destination for the state's signature cuisine. We proudly serve whole-hog barbecue made from Animal Welfare Approved, humanely raised North Carolina hogs. Our state's bountiful produce inspires our fresh selections of starters, sides, and desserts.

Paired perfectly with authentic Southern hospitality, The Pit's ode to traditional cuisine presents fare far beyond traditional barbecue offerings. From brisket, baby back ribs, barbecue turkey, and fried chicken to a can't miss barbecue tofu dish, The Pit provides homegrown decadence with a contemporary twist. Even our spirits at The Pit are handpicked to heighten the smoky, sometimes spicy flavors found throughout the menu. Whether its beer, wine, or fine bourbon and whiskey you seek, The Pit will have your perfect selection.

Our delicious offerings have garnered us plenty of media attention. We won a rib challenge on the Food Network's "Throwdown with Bobby Flay". The Pit has been on The Travel Channel's "Man vs Food" and was included in a barbecue cook-off on NBC's "The Today Show". We have been included in cooking segments on ABC's "Good Morning America" and "The Morning Show" on CBS, and have been featured in Bon Appetit, Southern Living, Men's Health, GQ, Imbibe, Delta Sky, and Food Network magazines.

The Pit is more than just a restaurant. Our food is our hospitality create an experience to be shared, enjoyed, and remembered. We look forward to your private dining experience and can't wait for you to get a taste of The Pit!

Let me show you funny:

Texas: Sheesh, we just lost to one of the worst D1 teams! Things can't get worse!
Baylor: Hold my Dr Pepper and watch this.
UNLV: Ha! Hold my Crown and Coke and watch THIS!

See, that's funny.

Your post just makes you sound like an ass.

If I'm going to North Carolina for 3 days, I'd rather spend it with my 91 year old father than watch a team that was top 5 in the Nation 2 years ago lose by 50 to the first decent team they have seen all year....

  • I have nonrefundable airfare to Atlanta and was going to drive through the Carolinas. Thankfully I had not bought tickets yet (the Duke ticket office last night showed seats still available on the 45 yd line, and seeing their crowd today I can see why).

  • Now trying to figure out how to spend 5 days in and the Atlanta area instead.
