His dad was a bad, bad Groesbeck Goat back in the day.
30 for 30: #24 Lenoy Jones Jr. — Ready for his chance
Linebacker, Lenoy Jones Jr. (5-11, 220) | Waco (TX) Midway High School
— High energy and high effort was the name of the game Jones Jr. (who has a boxing name in case you didn't notice) when playing on special teams and also in limited action on defense.
— Jones is one of a handful at the bottom of this list that are bunched up together who I believe are all on the verge of having breakout campaigns, but with being listed as a starter in the two-deep, he received the nod to be higher than the others.
— Jones started one game in the 2016 season as a redshirt freshman and totaled six tackles with 2.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks. He played in all 13 games on the season, but it was that one game that gave you a glimpse of the potential future.
— Like Jordan Williams, Jones was another linebacker added late in the 2015 class by Phil Bennett. The biggest reason for his finding a home at Baylor was his production as a high school senior at Midway. Jones Jr. was named 12-6A Defensive MVP after collecting 154 tackles, 10.0 tackles for loss, and nine QBH.
— With linebacker arguably Baylor's deepest position on the field for 2017, Jones will have to stay on his toes to earn the starting position.
