Baylor Men's Golf Boasts Five on Academic All-Big 12 Team

WACO, Texas – Baylor men’s golf had five players named to the 2023 Spring Academic All-Big 12 Team, announced by the conference on Monday.

The Bears were led by four first teamers, Luke Dossey, Sam Dossey, Tyler Isenhart, Johnny Keefer and Drew Wrightson, while Zach Heffernan made the second team. 2023 marks the 18th-straight season where BU has had multiple honorees and the seventh-straight season with at least four first-teamers.

Luke Dossey (accounting), Tyler Isenhart (finance) and Johnny Keefer (accounting) have been main-stays on Academic All-Conference squads with four appearances a piece including a third first-team selection for each in 2022-23.

Health Science major (pre-med) Drew Wrightson led the Bears with a sixth-place finish at the Big 12 Championship in April and led BU in the classroom with a 4.0 this semester. The sophomore made the first team in 2022-23 after making the rookie team last year.

Sophomore pre-business major Sam Dossey captured his career-first conference honor with his first-team selection.

Sophomore communications major Zach Heffernan earned a spot on the second team, on the heels of a rookie team selection in 2021-22.

BU players have combined to earn 68 Academic All-Big 12 honors during the eight-year McGraw era after picking up 44 such honors in the league's first 18 seasons.

First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, while the second-team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. The 2023 academic all-conference men’s basketball team consists of 36 total student-athletes.
