Even back in my day (over 60 years ago), Baylor has always seem to be on the "short end of the stick" with the conference, with the sports writers, and with the NCAA.... don't know why, it has always seemed that way. My thought was based on the Southern Baptist foundation as most sports writers seem to have problems with the Baptists. SMU was always given preference over Baylor, as well as TCU. Rice was strictly independent but still treated better than Baylor in the press, et al. At least it's been that way in football. The women basketball team gets pretty fair treatment, and the men receive decent treatment in baseball and gymnastics, but other than that, Baylor is always listed after the other schools, unless the schools are listed alphabetically. I haven't seen that change much since I left there in 1964.

"We don't care about the logos; that's silly. We pick them based on the name of the school."

Yeah just try to do away with the interlocking BU and see what happens. See former BU President Ichabod Crane Lilley.

The media prioritize athletics based on interest. A lot of those 60 years we were irrelevant In today's Chronicle the major front page stories are aggy and UT. UH is pushed to second page but will be front page when playing UT or have amazing success.
