No. 14 Baylor Volleyball Ready for Ram Volleyball Classic
WACO, Texas – The 14th-ranked Baylor volleyball team is set to face Colorado State, Bowling Green and Pacific at Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colo., from Friday to Sunday.
First up for the Bears (1-3) are the Rams (3-3), with the match on Friday starting at 7 p.m. CT. The full schedule for the Classic is below.
BU is coming off a five-set loss to SMU where Kyndal Stowers had the second double-double of her career, raking in 29 kills and 16 digs to lead the team in both categories. Elise McGhee also had 21 kills, making it the sixth time in the Ryan McGuyre era that two Bears have had 20 or more kills in the same match.
Baylor and SMU each had 12 team blocks, but BU led in team kills with 71 to the Mustangs’ 59. In the end, the Bears’ errors did them in for the close match, finishing 25-21, 23-25, 21-25, 25-23, 10-15. It was only the second time that McGuyre has lost a match to a former assistant, this time to Sam Erger.
The Rams open their tournament on Thursday night with Bowling Green and are coming off a 2-2 week where they defeated Michigan and Central Arkansas but took losses to Northern Colorado and No. 17 Arkansas, all four matches going to five sets.
Only the match with CSU will be streamed on Mountain West Network, but all three matches will have live stats here.
