Ten Things Vs. Long Island

Long Island replaced Louisiana Tech late, and this should never be in doubt. Here are the ten things from the game I observed

  1. The athleticism between the two is apparent, and Baylor needs to put this game away and get the 3rd string QB some time, not Martinez, but whoever is behind him
  2. The offense isn’t looking great, but it has turned up to be  ahead16-0, and Robertson is on the bench to get Martinez some reps
  3. Defensive lapses and Long Island scores. 
  4. Turnover when you can’t turn it over to give an underdog life. 
  5. Carl Williams IV‍ with an interception on the next play
  6. Halftime and the Bears need to do some soul-searching for the second half as they look to just be going through the motions
  7. Of course, a weather delay
  8. Two hours later
  9. The younger players continue to make plays, and there just seems like a disconnect between fire and execution.
  10. Bears win.

Been off the grid for a few days. Did we hang 60 points on that middle school bunch? Looking up scores now.

5 Things vs. Long Island (I only got to see the first half)

1) Before the start, I'm thinking: Good teams blow out teams like this - please tell me week 1 was an aberration and we gonna blow this team out.

2) From TV - stadium/atmosphere looks quiet and empty - bummer

3) The only people playing excited and with a high motor are the freshman running backs and the freshman d-backs - WTH?

4) wow - our QB2 is very inaccurate - feel bad for the wide receivers like Baldwin and Jackson - not sure you will ever get one thrown to you in stride

5) Defense didn't give a crap about a shut out - once they hit that lucky pass down the sideline - no toughness from the defense

6 - bonus point) our offense is not good - we are going to struggle for points - the d will have to keep us in games and hope for a miracle at the end - I'm calling 3 Big 12 wins the season - no bowl - I'm surprised we have dropped off so much since the Sugar Bowl - shocking
