30 for 30: #16 Brian Nance — Determination

RUSH, Brian Nance (6-3, 250) | Euless (TX) Trinity

— First things first, it should speak to the player and man which Brian Nance is that his teammates voted to give him a single-digit number in the 2017 season. After missing the 2016 season due to academically ineligible, the former four-star prospect has earned a starting position on Phil Snow's defense while taking care of his family in Temple.

— The former linebacker has always been seen a bit as "tweener" since his high school days because of his mass and that is the exact way that he will be played in Snow's defense at the RUSH position. It is a perfect match for his skill set and could even propel him to the NFL level by showcasing his natural ability.

— If you check out the YouTube video above you will see Nance collect a sack against Rice as a sophomore in 2015 as a reserve defensive lineman. That was one of two he collected on the season with the second coming against Oklahoma during a home game. His pass-rushing ability will be utilized throughout his final season in Waco.

— It is tough to predict if Nance will be drafted or get his shot in the NFL after missing his junior season, but he undoubtedly has the work ethic and will to do what it takes to get there. His athletic ability should allow for it, but the production to match the athletic ability is a must.

— He is definitely not one I would discount of making it. Nothing has come easy for the former Army All-American who went to prep school out of high school before making it to Baylor a year later. He is determined and will not pass the opportunity up to give himself the best chance to make it.

Nothing but love and respect for Brian, a lesser man would have given up long ago.

I hope he breaks out and has an All Conference level season, he certainly has an all American heart.
By the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved.
