No. 15 Baylor MGOLF Set to Close Down the Fall Semester at the Kapolei Invitational

KAPOLEI, Hawaii – Baylor men’s golf will play its final fall event beginning Tuesday when they open play in the inaugural Kapolei Invitational.

This tournament marks Baylor's first appearance in Hawaii during the Mike McGraw era. The Kapolei Invitational will allow BU to play 10 of its 11 players going into the winter break, and McGraw is looking forward to seeing his guys end a strong semester on a high note.

“We have come a long way in the past twelve months, and we have made good progress this fall,” he said. “It would be good to put a nice exclamation point on this fall season with a great week at Kapolei.”

Johnny Keefer will lead things off at the No. 1 spot. The senior is coming off a 4-1 performance at the Big 12 Match Play, improving to 16-5-4 all-time in that format.

Luke Dossey will play at No. 2 for the fourth-straight tournament. The senior enters this week leading the team in par-3 scoring average (2.85) and par-or-better percentage (84.4%).

Zach Heffernan moves up to No. 3 for this week. The junior is coming off a historic performance at the Big 12 Match Play, finishing the week with a perfect 5-0 record. Heffernan became one of three Bears, and one of five players in the event's history, to complete a 5-0 week.

Trey Bosco will take his spot at No. 4 this week. He enters the Kapolei Invitational second on the team with 58 total pars.

The final spot in the lineup will go to Jonas Appel, who is making his third start of the semester.

Tyler Isenhart, Luke Morgan, Sam Dossey, Davis Ovard and Patricio Gonzalez will all play in the event as individuals.
