ESPN films Matt Rhule special in Waco, host calls Baylor '1st class'

Baylor fans know how special Matt Rhule seems to be on the surface before he has even coached a game in Waco. From his efforts on the recruiting trail and his inspirational "talks" with fans at every offseason city stop.

Now ESPN will attempt to give Baylor fans and non-Baylor fans even more reason to believe that he is the best man for the job.

ESPN anchor Matt Barrie tweeted a picture of Rhule and himself in a small Waco BBQ joint on Tuesday and stated that a story on Rhule coming to Baylor was in the works. Barrie also claimed that Baylor was being run by "1st class people."

The details of the feature are unknown at this point, but the more positive publicity that Baylor can get, especially through an outlet like ESPN, the better.

Wow. ESPN must really be starting to think that Rhule is going to lose at Baylor (especially when we play their pet Big 12 schools like UT and OU).

So true. Good thing the national media reported those mistakes objectively and rationally and only stated facts to help the public form their own opinions about our situation and have done a wonderful job showcasing the progress we've made and the good at Baylor.

Absolutely. Praise is also due for the professionalism of the remaining coaching staff last season, especially for the way they and our fans embraced the advocate they brought to campus who was measured in her responses to our situation.

Wasn't momma and poppa B absorbed by the silos?

And Jasper's, with that bowl of grease they call "gravy" and meat they boil then finish off in the fire for ten minutes, well it's still worth the gunshot risks.

And you can get a "date" outside for ten bucks to boot.

Ace Thedic points something out that no one mentions.

Last season, the coaches and players had to deal with losing their head coach, and worse yet, under some pretty extraordinary circumstances.

And who would want to be head coach of that mess? Grobe did not realize how crazy it was going to get. (neither did we.)

Anyone heard anything about Coach Grobe?

As far BBQ in the Waco area I've only been to Rudy's, Michna's and The Rusty Star in the past five years or so, unless you count Coach's in McGregor. Haven't done Jasper's or Vitek's since the olden days.

Michna's had some decent food but they're closed now. Coach's was great the first year or two they opened, but the last time I was there it was way down. The Rusty Star wasn't bad, but it was late afternoon and the meat was past prime eating wheelhouse. Rudy's was usually consistently pretty good until last Spring when I went and it sucked.

100% agree! ESPN has become political and there is always an hidden agenda with them. They are losing vast amounts of revenue. So, now they are trying anything they can to bring in money. It's all true.

It's not in Waco. But the BBQ of all BBQ is in Rockdale. Right on the main drag. It's called "NO TEETH BAR-BQ"
