No. 14 Baylor Cruises Past McNeese 124-44
No. 14 Baylor Women’s Basketball defeated McNeese 124-44 in a record-setting performance that saw all 13 Bears contribute points.
Led by sophomore Bella Fontleroy with 19 points, Baylor ran away from the Cowgirls with 71 of the Bear’s points coming from the bench.
The Breakdown
The First Quarter
In a quarter that might have scared the faint of heart, the Bears only led by six after the first 10 minutes. Baylor was out-rebounded 7-1 and had trouble shooting only putting away 32.1% from the field.
Not to say there weren’t any bright spots, Graduate Dre’Una Edwards recorded her first double-double at Baylor and her 24th in her career. Putting up 10 points and 10 rebounds in the first 10 minutes of play.
The Second Quarter
After a spirited conversation at the quarter break, the Bears went on to outscore McNeese 30-4, not allowing the Cowgirls to sink a single shot from the field. All four points recorded by McNeese came from the charity stripe.
In what would become a trend of the game, Baylor’s bench scored 24 points in the quarter, with 12 of them coming from Fontleroy.
The Second Half
Starting the half with a lead of 32 (53-21) the Bears ran away scoring a whopping 71 points in the half, this would be good for 124 total, the most points scored in the Nicki Collen era. This is also the fifth-highest-scoring game of all time for the Bears.

- Fifth time in program history seven players finished in double figures, first time in the Collen era.
