IRVING, Texas – The Baylor volleyball program had four players earn All-Big 12 selections in the end-of-the-year awards that were released Tuesday by the Big 12 Conference.

Elise McGhee led the group with her selection to First Team, while Manuela Bibinbe, Lauren Briseño and Averi Carlson were each named Second Team. This is each student-athlete’s first time earning their respective awards.

In league matches alone, she ranks eighth across the conference with an average of 4.03 kills/set and 270 kills. McGhee is also fifth in points per set in league matches.

Bibinbe, a junior transfer, has made an immediate impact in her first season as a Bear. The native of Cameroon has tallied 232 kills as a middle blocker, leading the team with a total of 90 blocks through the regular season. Of those 90, 15 have been solo, and she averages 0.84 blocks per set. Bibinbe has also totaled 12 aces from the service line.

Libero Briseño is a constant on defense for Baylor, collecting 342 digs through 108 sets to lead the Bears. Often putting her body on the line to dig a ball, the junior averages 3.17 digs per set. She also is electric from the service line with 20 aces. The San Antonio, Texas, native has also gathered 102 assists across the regular season as well.

The starting setter in her second season, Carlson has amassed 1,129 assists across the Bears’ 28 matches. She averages 10.45 assists per set with a set percentage of .397.
