"not generating much pass rush" - really? How about not generating ANY pass rush. Their QB just stood very casually until he decided to throw it. Our D line was supposed to be a strength - ALL BIG 12, etc. but they did absolutely nothing. I think they impacted 3-4 plays that I can remember the whole game Very, very few pressures. There was no different approach about the rush either. No real blitzes, no stunts, etc. I expected the D backs to struggle some but not the D line. The linebackers (again, supposed to be good) did not seem to be there, either. I cannot remember one of them ever hitting the back behind the line. No pushing backwards the whole game.

This is what lost the game. I was disappointed by all of it but shocked about the D line play.

It felt at times they were holding back and being super vanilla on purpose, perhaps not wanting to show things in film to Big 12 opponents...but you gotta win in order to get away with that.

IMO you get one game for that to be your excuse. Better see some improvement against UTSA.

It's a bad excuse if they can't win without a more complex gameplan.

The true freshman Thompson gave more QB pressure than any of the veterans.
