Baylor Softball’s Crandall Named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week

March 12, 2024

IRVING, Texas – Baylor softball's RyLee Crandall was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, announced by the conference Tuesday morning.

The award marks the sophomore's second-career Big 12 weekly honor, as she was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week on May 9, 2023, during her freshman campaign.

Crandall made three appearances in the circle this week, with a 0.64 ERA. She helped the Bears pick up a midweek win over Sam Houston, pitching 3.0 scoreless innings and only allowing two hits.

In the Bears 2-0 shutout of No. 7 Oklahoma State, Crandall pitched a one-hit complete-game shutout. The sophomore was one hit away from a perfect game, effectively retiring 21 of 22 at bats.

The Atresia, N.M., native is a perfect 7-0 on the season for the Bears. She only walked three batters in her 11.0 innings pitched, while striking out six.

The Bears are getting ready to face Lamar in a midweek doubleheader on Tuesday, March 12, before heading to Lawrence, Kan., to continue conference play against the Jayhawks March 15-17.
