WACO, Texas – For the 26th straight season, the 40th-ranked Baylor men’s tennis team secured a spot in the NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Team Championships. During Monday night's selection show, the Bears were placed in the College Station region.

BU (18-11) begins play against San Diego (22-3) in the first round at Texas A&M’s Mitchell Tennis Center on Friday. With a first-round win, the Bears face the winner of the Texas A&M Aggies and Rice Owls in the second round.

The Bears’ at-large bid is the 26th consecutive and 26th in program history.

Baylor holds a combined record of 42-5 in the first two rounds of the tournament and an overall mark of 67-24.

First- and second-round competition in the NCAA Championship is held across 16 regional campus sites from May 3-4. The winner of each regional advances to a super-regional comprised of just two teams on May 10 or 11. The quarterfinals, semifinals and championship match will be held at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla.

Selections for the singles and doubles championship, held on May 20-25, will be released Tuesday by the NCAA.

Lost 4-1 to San Diego

Lots of rain delayed time between doubles and singles.

Most of the singles matches were close, they just didn't go out way.
