Baylor Softball Earns At-Large Bid to NCAA Tournament

WACO, Texas – Baylor (32-20) secured its 16th NCAA Tournament bid, heading to Lafayette Regional, hosted by No. 12 national seed Louisiana-Lafayette (42-17), May 17-19.

The Bears open the double-elimination tournament against Ole Miss (31-25) on Friday at 7 p.m. CT at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park. The Ragin’ Cajuns and Princeton (29-16) will lead off the day with a 4:30 p.m. CT start time.

Baylor’s all-time record in the NCAA Tournament is 48-34, and all 82 games have been under the direction of head coach Glenn Moore.

This marks the 11th appearance in the last 13 seasons for Baylor in the NCAA Tournament. The Bears have advanced to at least a Super Regional round six times and are 33-14 all-time in the first round.

Louisiana captured the regular-season Sun Belt Conference Championship for the fifth-straight season. Princeton earned the Ivy League Conference's automatic bid, while Ole Miss grabbed an at-large bid as all 13 SEC schools got into the postseason tournament.

Five Big 12 schools received bids as Texas earned the No. 1 overall seed. Oklahoma will be the No. 2 overall seed and Oklahoma State received the No. 5 seed.
