Baylor Football Releases New Alternate Uniform Ahead of the 2024 Season
WACO, Texas -- Baylor football has unveiled four new uniform combinations for the 2024 season, including Green, Gold, White and Anthracite, it was announced via social media this week.
Baylor has had Green, Gold and White uniforms since the Baylor United re-brand in 2019 and will be adding the Anthracite alternate uniform base into the mix in 2024.
The 2024 version of Baylor’s uniforms will feature Nike-determined uniform colors, including Gorge Green, University Gold, White and Anthracite. The core uniforms, helmets and accessories will create up to 64 color combinations for the Bears to don as they take the field.
The all-new Anthracite uniform option features unique elements, including homages to special past uniform combinations. The front of the jersey will feature “BAYLOR” across the chest and the numbers in Gold. On the sleeves of the jersey, there will be a bear claw print, a nod towards the 2013-14 Big 12 Championship teams. The pants will feature a subtle stripe, a break from the sharp green/white/gold stripes in the core uniform pants. The front bumper of the helmet will also feature a Bear head on the Anthracite uniform. The Green, Gold and White will serve as Baylor’s core uniform base, with the alternate combination designed to be a supplemental option.
The three core uniforms will feature a combination of the green/white/gold stripe on the sleeves and pants. The Bear head is donned on the collar of each jersey, with the numbers in Green on the Gold and White jerseys, and in White on the Green uniform. Each helmet option will feature “BAYLOR” on the front bumper of the helmet.
As part of the reveal, Baylor’s Creative team worked with four student-athletes to display the options as part of a video and photo unveiling on social media and BaylorBears.com. Included in the process were wide receivers Josh Cameron and Ketron Jackson Jr., cornerback Caden Jenkins and running back Richard Reese.
Baylor will also continue to don the Sailor Bear logo on its helmet for its annual Homecoming games. Baylor’s 2024 homecoming celebration will culminate with the Oct. 26 game vs. Oklahoma State. Baylor boasts the nation’s oldest homecoming, which started in 1909.
Replica jerseys from the core uniforms will be available at retail this fall, including NIL jerseys supporting Baylor Football student-athletes. Replica Anthracite jerseys are not expected to hit shelves until Fall 2025, per Baylor’s Nike retail distributor.
Baylor opens its 2024 season on Aug. 31 vs. Tarleton at McLane Stadium. The home schedule will boast an exciting collection of celebrations, including the honoring of the 10th anniversary of the opening of McLane Stadium with the season lid-lifter vs. Tarleton. Fans will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the “Miracle on the Brazos” the 1974 Southwest Conference Championship team on Sept. 14 vs. Air Force, and the 2013-14 Big 12 Conference Championship teams on Nov. 2 vs. TCU.
