It's a Trap! Or is it? Baylor's Offensive Plan Might Not Have Told Us Much

In game one of the 2024 season against Tarleton under new offensive coordinator Jake Spavital, Baylor’s offense ran 71 plays for 442 yards, a 6.23 yard per average. That yard-per-play average would have ranked No. 6 in the Big 12 over the course of the entire 2023 season, but through week one of 2024, it ranks No. 12. 

Throughout 2023, Baylor averaged only 5.3 yards per play, No. 13 in the Big 12, and only once averaged more than 6.2 yards per play.
