Craig, longtime fans did not boycott the stadium based on one bad result in Colorado. That game was just the straw that broke the camel's back. It's the chronic nature of the losing that has lost the fanbase. Overall, a solid summation.

Yes sir. That was a good listen.

I wasn't aware that Smoak stopped doing one on one's with Aranda mid last year. Does anyone know what happened? Did Aranda just get tired of fielding questions?

Quote from the show

"If it's not some FCS team we're probably losing"

Ouch. And yes.

I don't recall the last time Smoak was called on during a press conference. Aranda is the Kamala Harris of football. No hard questions, no reporters we don't have on our side asking questions.

Its a death spiral right now with our leaders circling the wagons on bad decisions rather than aggressively focusing on solutions.

One thing I'll say is these 3 call it like it is. Colt, Greyson and the others pump sunshine and refuse to put any blame on Dave.

I could honestly see Aranda snapping and throwing a desk or something if he gets asked a tough question about his job security or something along those lines. He's looked very tense the last couple weeks. In any event, he's definitely being shielded by the powers that be

Grayson, at the minimum, is paid by Baylor. He won't bite the hand that feeds him

Ashley and Brian usually kept it real when they posted. Same with smoak. The rest of the staff? About like trying to get a news outlet in Russia to criticize their war

Exactly.

That was the game that showed that nothing has changed in this program from last year to this.

We have a more talented roster, certainly, and will play more close games. But that's of little comfort when you're incapable of winning close games.

I got the impression that it was Aranda who stopped. Maybe I misunderstood and Smoak just wisely cut his losses of wasted time.

Would not be disappointed to see a little spark from him. He comes off as dismissive and completely unconcerned about it all.
I wish he'd shove over his desk or tear a locker off the wall or have practice at 3am and nothing but burpees until players are in tears.

Our players are receiving the message of the tone that Dave sets.

I agree. He looks like he's already ready for the season to be over TBH. That demeanor absolutely does rub off on the players.

I don't think the lack of attendance was a "fan protest" after Colorado.

It is just a cumulative thing after so many home losses.

In game attendance is expensive and time consuming and has not been satisfying for a while now. It did not just start with the Colorado game.

Thus, people stay home, tune in on TV and when it gets ugly early in the game people tune out, finding better things to do with their time. I watch to the bitter end like many on here but typical fans I think do not.

I spent most of my day driving to the game, sitting in the heat and sweating my ass off, watching the team show up looking listless and asleep and going down 0-21, then watched us make it interesting and lose. Again. How many home losses have I seen in person the last 3 years? Most of my buddies who I would go with or tailgate with have quit going. It's become a crappy way to spend a day, when I have lots of other options.

And it was the ADs who made TV such an important part of the revenue equation, not the fans. By staying home and committing three hours to the Bears, rather than a whole damn day, I'm just doing my part to boost our TV ratings.

These grifting administrators can't complain about both attendance and TV viewership.
